1 week old today! We started off with 13 but had 2 runts one a lot more poorly than the other. Sadly we lost one on day 4 but the other, lovingly named ‘Runty’ is doing really well. All pretty bad but unique markings and 2 that are lighter coloured which we haven’t had before.

4 days old can’t believe how big they are getting! Mum let me take them out the cage for a photo today (she supervised) it’s so lovely to see the markings come in. We have 2 that we think may be pink eyed so interested to see what markings they come through with.

We were previously using Allen and Page Pygmy goat mix and Pegasus conditioning mix. Have swapped the Allen and Page for a rabbit melange from animals first

After a really busy and stressful few days I am finally able to get a post done about our new little rat babies. They are now a few days old and have started to notice some markings coming through (we have a lot of wonky blazes) 13 babies were born on Tuesday morning and so far all 13 are still going strong. We have a couple of runts but they seem to be feeding well and we have everything crossed they will continue to do so. Mum doesn’t like to be far away from them and doesn’t like them being removed from the cage although she is happy for me to check them as long as she can see me. This means I currently have no idea of how many of each gender we have as I’m prioritising counting them and just checking for milk bands when I can. Anyone on my waiting list will be contacted once I am ready to allocate homes. Once I have worked out how many I have and spoken to the people on my waiting list I will put up a post with any I have left who do not have homes and are not being kept.

When your brother wants to use you as a bed ❤️ these 2 gorgeous bucks are staying with us while their owners are on holiday. They are the sweetest boys who just love all the attention and cuddles they can get! Going to miss them when they go home
