Did you know we can perform a range of diagnostic tests during your pet’s home visit?

Blood testing

EPOC blood analyser
Our in-house EPOC analyser allows us to perform rapid blood analysis during the visit, with results available within minutes.
This can be particularly valuable in emergencies, helping us quickly assess important parameters including electrolytes, blood gases, lactate and other critical values.

External laboratory testing
For non-emergency cases, we can also collect blood samples at home and send them to an external laboratory for more extensive testing.
This allows us to investigate a wide range of conditions and more specific blood values, including tests such as thyroid function and other specialised investigations.

Ultrasound
Our portable ultrasound allows us to perform abdominal and thoracic scans during a home visit when clinically indicated. This can help us investigate and diagnose a range of conditions, as well as perform pregnancy scans when needed.

What To Expect at a Home Visit 🏠

Before we arrive 📋
Once your appointment is booked, we’ll confirm your details and appointment time. We’ll also ask for some information about your pet and their medical history, so we can prepare for your visit.

We prepare our van 🚐
Before every visit, our mobile veterinary van is carefully prepared with the equipment and medications we may need.
Although we are a fully mobile service, we are very well equipped with a range of diagnostic equipment, medications and veterinary essentials, allowing us to provide comprehensive care in the comfort of your own home.

A calm consultation & clinical examination 🩺
We’ll take the time to discuss your concerns and get to know your pet, allowing them to become familiar and comfortable with us in their own home.
Once they are settled, the vet will perform a thorough clinical examination and discuss their findings with you.

Treatment & next steps ✍️
If treatment is needed, we’ll discuss the options with you and make a plan together. Where appropriate, medication and other treatments can be provided during the visit.

After the visit 🗓️
When needed, we’ll arrange a recheck consultation to make sure your pet is progressing as expected.
We’ll continue to stay in touch and support you throughout your pet’s care, making sure everything goes according to plan.

We’re always here for your questions, concerns and most importantly, your pet’s needs. 🐾

In honour of International Dog Day, we'd love to share the story of Robin - a beautiful 9-year-old German Shepherd, the goodest boy, and one of the strongest patients we've ever had the privilege of caring for...

Robin has been through so much. In January 2024, he was diagnosed with large-cell lymphoma and underwent extensive treatment at a referral centre, including chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Despite everything he has faced, Robin fought through it all and is currently in remission.

Today, we're lucky enough to be part of Robin's journey, regularly checking on him, managing his ongoing needs and treating any issues that arise, helping him stay comfortable and enjoy life to the fullest.

His story is a wonderful reminder of just how incredibly resilient our pets can be. Through every challenge, Robin has continued to show strength, courage and so much love.
We are so proud of you, Robin. Keep going and keep being the incredible dog you are. 🐾❤️

When temperatures rise, our furry friends can struggle to stay cool. Here are our top tips to protect your pet during a heatwave.

5 things to do if you think your pet has heatstroke ☀️

1. Move them out of direct sunlight
Move them into a cool, well ventilated area. Use a fan if available.

2. Start cooling them with water
Gently wet their body. Avoid ice cold water or ice.

3. Offer small amounts of fresh water
Do not force them to drink.

4. Contact your vet immediately
Seek veterinary advice as soon as possible. Heatstroke can be life-threatening and requires urgent veterinary attention.

5. Continue cooling during transport
If it is safe to do so, keeping the car well ventilated or using the air conditioning.

When temperatures rise, some animals are more vulnerable to heatstroke than others. Brachycephalic (flat-faced) breeds, pets with thick coats, young and elderly pets, overweight animals, and those with underlying health conditions can all be at higher risk.

But remember, any animal can suffer from heatstroke in hot weather, so it’s important to keep a close eye on your pets and make sure they always have access to shade, fresh water and a cool environment. 🌡️

Keep an extra eye on your furry friends during the heatwave and never leave them in a hot car, conservatory or other poorly ventilated space. ❤️
