If you’re new around here, welcome to The Bunny Shed ~ a little corner of Cornwall filled with bunnies, organised chaos and probably far too many treats (human ones included!) 😂

I’m Becky, the human behind the shed and inside you’ll find Bernie, Piglet & Posy living their absolute best lives… plus a few Silkie chickens, a playful Cocker Spaniel pup, a very sweet Cavapoo and occasionally a big cuddly cat called Sam 🐰🐔🐶

The Bunny Shed started as a little renovated shed in the garden and somehow turned into this whole community of bunny-obsessed people... and I LOVE it 🥹

Expect bunny care, shed makeovers, garden life, cute rabbit antics, Cornish beaches, pretty things and the occasional iced coffee making an appearance ☕️🌊🌿

So if you’re new here… hi! I’m so glad you found us 🫶🏼
Tell me where you’re following from and a little about you ☺️👋🏼

Finding foods for your buns doesn't have to be expensive and here's how to save a few £££

🌸 Check the yellow sticker box in your local supermarket for bunny safe foods.
🌸 Open plastic packaging to prevent sweating. Often use by dates will stay fresh for a few days after if they're stored in the right way.
🌸 Portion foods so you're not wasting any. Not that Piglet ever lets any food go to waste...
🌸 Rotate foods and ensure your rabbits are eating plenty of hay by reducing pellets or veggies where necessary.
🌸 Mix up their diet by looking for reduced items and offers.
🌸 Grow your own... Mint is the perfect, easy-to-grow herb that grows as fast as a w**d. Just keep it out of reach of your bunnies to give it chance to replenish.
🌸 Grow seasonally. Chard in the Summer months and Curly Kale and Parsley can survive harsh Winters.

I love nothing more than finding the yellow sticker boxes FULL of rabbit friendly foods... who's on their way to their local supermarket right now? Hold my basket... 🛒🌿🥬🌸

I know of a local breeder who is sadly having to rehome some young adult Angora rabbits (both males and females). These are gorgeous bunnies who require daily brushing and in return will give you SO much love back ~ the puppies of the rabbit world! If you would like more details please DM me 🐰

Having owned rabbits since I was fourteen, I’ve seen the shift from the old days of wooden hutches in the garden to the free-roaming lives Bernie, Piglet and Posy live today 🐰🏡

First, swap the hutch for a shed. Giving them that extra vertical space and floor room makes for much healthier, happier bunnies and it is honestly way easier to maintain and clean as an owner when you can actually stand up 😌

I always recommend using stainless steel litter trays. They don't hold onto smells like plastic ones do and they are far easier to scrub out at the weekend 🧼🧽

Switch from water bottles to heavy ceramic water bowls. It is a much more natural way for them to drink, and you won't have to deal with that constant dripping sound against the wood 💧🥣

Finally, focus on enrichment rather than just pellets. I feed much less pellets and way more hay now, topped up with different textures, soil to dig in and plenty of chew toys to keep their minds busy. It makes such a difference when you’re just sitting there with a brew, watching them actually be bunnies ☺️☕️
