Thank you to Margaret for the tray of tins of meat from the wish list. Margaret took the little one who ive now named vanilla into Animates vets in Market Deeping the other week.
I also took advantage of the prime days as it was cheaper than zooplus. So brought scrumbles kitten biscuits and purina one kitten biscuits.
Also the brambles competition winning food arrived to.

I want to thank Sarah Parnell who brought two of my hoggy thank you key rings and asked me to give them to the two girls that found the poorly hedgehog in the park as a gift for being so kind and getting help for the little one.
Scarlett just popped by with her brother to pick up the key rings and her brother asked if he could see a little hedgehog as he hadn't seen one. So I showed him one quickly as I was doing the clean outs.
They also gave me this cute glass hedgehog ornament that their dad had given them to give to me.

Last few days to vote. If you type in the rescues name in the nomination box the rescues name wont come up so you click on the box that says Charity not listed and then fill in the other boxs and thats it.
I'm not sure if the code that we have is even for the rescue as when I type it in another name comes up so best to just do it by the name.

The sadness continues please only go to the picture in the comments if you really want to see. This is the type of things as a rescue i and other rescues have to deal with.
Last night I got a call about a 400 gram hog damage to the eye and mouth. The lady had tried other places but it wasn't possible to get help. I at first said no im full let me give you other numbers but when she said it was injured I said yes.
It wasn't until several hours later after the hog had warmed up that I could see the problems.
The poor thing had lost its lips on one side of its mouth and also its eye and surrounding area on the same side.
This was not a new injury and the poor hog had gone quite a while surviving like he was.
The finder said he was eating when she got him.
I had left some water and mousse in the cage with him and when i watched him eat he walked around and around the bowl eating the best way he could.
Not sure if their was other damage maybe to the nose. But I knew their was only one outcome. I gave him pain relief.
So i took him to the vets today to be pts. 😪
But no sooner as im leaving the vets i get a call from just two minutes up the road. So I head their.
The sight I see was so sad. Adult male cold covered in fly strike in its mouth, ears, eyes, nose and all round its skirt. Some just hatching in the eyes. It was strugging to breath and something was wrong with its mouth. My heart broke seeing that. So on to the vets again and go straight their for another pts.
Please no more deaths I need a break.

Sadly the little one that the girls found in the park passed away in the night. 😢

After two hours curled up on the heat pad its uncurled for a drink of oralade.

Just got this poor little one in, found not far from the park so could be a sibling to yesterday's one. Unfortunately its got fly strike and its not cooperating for egg removel which is mostly all tucked into its underside. So ive had to put it on heat to warm it up to encourage it to uncurl. Which we dont normally do as it makes the eggs hatch quicker.
As you can see it also has good few fleas coming off it.

The girls came back today and knocked on the door to check how the little one is doing.
Unfortunately shes not doing great at all and i dont think shes going to make it. I told the girls shes extremely poorly and may not make it and thats the reason she was out in the day.

Just had two young girls come to the house with this little one wrapped in one of their hoodies. The girls were playing over the park which is just near my house and this one was sitting out in the playing field. They scooped it up and one of them knew the rescue was somewhere nearby so they came looking for my house.
Ive asked them to keep a eye out for other siblings. Unfortunately this one's poorly with coccidia and cap as shes just left me a sample to test. 306 grams and bit thin.
