Recently, Bolly’s adorable Beagle puppies came to visit us! 🐶💕
Flick, Bobby, Bluey, Juno and Bunting all came in for their first vaccinations and microchipping, and they were incredibly brave throughout their appointment.
They soaked up plenty of cuddles and attention from our team, and it was such a joy to see their little personalities shining through!
The photos in this post show just how much they've grown – from tiny newborn puppies just a few days old to the happy, healthy youngsters they are today. It's amazing to see their transformation over the last few weeks!
Mum Bolly should be very proud of her beautiful litter. She's done a wonderful job raising such confident, friendly puppies, and we know their future families are going to adore them.
Thank you for bringing them in to see us – we can't wait to watch them continue to grow and thrive! ❤️🐾

Big news for the lovely Poppy!
Yesterday she had her post-op X-rays after her TPLO surgery 12 weeks ago with our amazing orthopaedic vet! For those who don’t know, a TPLO procedure treats a cruciate ligament rupture in the knee (similar to sport related injuries in people) We're happy to say she's healed up perfectly! Now she can slowly start getting back to her usual self. Here is a picture of her with her favourite fox teddy in her kennel🦊❤️🐾

Today we welcomed two new furry friends, Lily and Tayla, who popped in for their complimentary registration health check. This free service is a brilliant way for new patients to meet our friendly team and for our vets to give them a thorough health assessment right from the start. It was a pleasure getting to know them, and we're so happy to have them as part of the Ledbury Park family! 🩷🐾

New Pet Travel Update ☀️ 🏖️ 🐶 🐱

From the 22nd April new rules have come into effect covering how residents of Great Britain can travel to the EU with their pets.

From this date, GB citizens whose main residence is in the UK *cannot* use their EU pet passport for transit into the EU and *must* have an Animal Health Certificate (AHC) issued by a official veterinary surgeon before any travel.

EU pet passports will only be issued to residents of EU countries or those individuals whose permanent residence is in the EU.

GB residents can still use their pet passports for the return journey to the UK.

Please check the government website for more guidance.

If you would like help or advice or an issuing of an AHC, we have 3 vets who are able to provide this for you so please just ask our lovely reception team when enquiring.

🌱 SPRINGTIME IS HERE 🌱

It’s that time of year again where the tortoises are emerging from hibernation and enjoying the warmer weather. Here is lovely Nelly, owned by vet Janet, enjoying a light lunch in the sunshine.

At Ledbury Park Vets we offer Pre and Post-hibernation healthchecks for tortoises, so let us know if you’d like to book your tortoise in.

🩺 ♥️ MURMUR MONTH ♥️ 🩺

Lovely Marty came in today for an echocardiogram to investigate a murmur which was picked up during a recent heart health check. 🐾

We’re very proud to have Natasha as part of our team. She holds a diagnostic imaging certificate and is interested in cardiac disease.

This means she is trained to assess murmurs in much greater detail than routine checks alone allow, and identify subtle changes which can be easy to miss without this advanced knowledge.

During March Murmur Month, pets who need further assessment can benefit directly from Natasha’s experience and our imaging equipment - Something that isn’t available everywhere, for a discounted price.

Thankfully Marty 🐶 has no evidence of changes to his heart and monitoring only is recommended at this point. 🥰

📞 Book a heart health check to find out whether Natasha’s input could be helpful for your pet - while spaces are still available! 📞

💛 MURMUR MONTH - Why heart murmurs are hard to spot at home 💛

Many owners ask ‘Wouldn’t I notice if something was wrong with my pet’s heart?’

The honest answer is often, no. Early heart changes rarely cause obvious symptoms. Coughing, exercise intolerance or breathing changes usually appear much later, when the heart disease has progressed. This is why listening to the heart and assessing it clinically is so important.

As part of our MURMUR MONTH, we are focussing on early checks - before pets feel unwell - so decisions can be calm and informed, rather than reactive.

📞 If your pet is old, or a breed prone to heart issues, a heart check could be worthwhile. We are offering complimentary heart health checks throughout March, so contact the practice to arrange a consultation with one of our vets while spaces are still available.
