1,286 days waiting for someone to call her theirs🐾

Meet Bambi, a lovely girl in the care of Rescue P.A.W.S. in Thailand who is still waiting for her forever home.

Bambi is fully grown at 17kg, clever, affectionate and full of love for people. She walks beautifully on a lead, has great recall and knows her basic commands.

Her one challenge? She doesn’t always get along with other dogs, so she would be happiest as the only dog in her home.

Beyond that, Bambi has so much to offer the right person. She deserves a family who will give her the love, patience and safe home she’s been waiting for.

And that family could be anywhere in the world.

Rescue P.A.W.S. can help coordinate international adoptions to countries including the UK, USA and across Europe.

Can you help us find Bambi her happy ending before Christmas?

🐾 Share this post to help Bambi reach her person.🐾 Tag someone who might be the perfect match.🐾 If you’re interested in adopting, get in touch with Rescue P.A.W.S.

After 1,286 days, let's make this the year Bambi finally gets to go home.

I have thought a lot about this upcoming Longines Global Championship event in Cairo. 🐴🇪🇬

The opportunities, risks, two parallel universes colliding...

This week, the Worldwide Vets Egypt team are at the showjumping event in Cairo. It will be attended by some of the most talented equine and human athletes from around the world.

The event takes place at a location renowned for welfare issues and suffering. The Giza Pyramids. I have seen this 1st hand, having provided vet care to horses in Egypt via partners and our own vets, for years now.

People are rightly speaking out about this painful paradox. But we must be careful. Anger on social media alone will not change lives. Let's not write a hurried message, and continue with our day.

We need to stand up - put our time, energy, and money where our mouths are.

This is how real change happens.

This event is also an opportunity. To showcase what exceptional veterinary care, nutrition and management look like. To educate, inspire and create lasting change.

This event is chance for kids to peek over walls, and dream of having fitter healthier horses. To see it IS a possibility, and already here in Cairo, in a minority of places.

So, we need support, not just judgement.

Last week we were joined by colleagues teaching local vets more about horse medicine. This is exactly what is needed. Education, empowerment, unity, for horses.

After the event, our educational work continues. Teaching vets to better detect illness and pain in horses. Teaching kids to be compassionate to animals.

🦏 We're on the ground. Will you join us in 2027?

Our latest Rhino Dehorning Mission brought veterinary professionals together for a week of rhino care, conservation and hands on fieldwork.

From lectures on capture and immobilisation, pharmacology and disease management to practical dart-gun training, the team explored the skills and knowledge involved in working with these incredible animals.

The highlight? Getting out into the field.
Several rhinos were immobilised for dehorning and translocation, alongside the relocation of sable antelopes. Every operation plays a role in wider wildlife management and conservation efforts.

And now, we're looking ahead to our next mission.

We're looking for 10 vets to join us in Namibia in October 2027.

Imagine working alongside experienced teams in the African bush, contributing to rhino dehorning and translocation work, and gaining insight into wildlife veterinary medicine in the field.

Red sand, Namibian sunsets and the opportunity to contribute to vital conservation work - this is veterinary medicine beyond the clinic walls.

🐎Building skills. Supporting equine vets. Creating opportunities to learn.

Our recent equine veterinary workshop in Egypt brought together three female equine vets for practical learning and knowledge sharing with experienced lecturers.

The workshop covered two key areas of equine medicine: equine dentistry, including anatomy and oral examinations, and ultrasound assessment of the fore and hind limbs.

Practical sessions took place at Al Sorat Farm and a polo horse stable, giving participants the opportunity to explore these techniques in real-world equine settings.

Our thanks go to the lecturers, organisers and participating vets for making this workshop a success. We look forward to building on this experience and creating further opportunities for equine veterinary education.

Because sharing knowledge helps strengthen veterinary care, and gives more horses access to the treatment they need.

Veterinary medicine is demanding. Between long hours, emotional pressure, difficult cases and the responsibility of caring for others, it can be easy to put your own wellbeing last.

THRIVE was created to change that 🌿

This 7-day veterinary retreat in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe combines RACE-accredited continuing education with personal development, wildlife, adventure and time to step away from the everyday.

Throughout the programme, veterinary professionals explore practical tools for managing stress, preventing burnout, understanding themselves and others, strengthening communication and setting meaningful personal and professional goals.

But learning at THRIVE isn't confined to a classroom.

Between 32 hours of RACE-accredited education, participants can experience the incredible landscapes and wildlife of Zimbabwe, from safari game drives and bush sundowners to a Zambezi River boat cruise and a tour of Victoria Falls 🐘🌍

It is also an opportunity to connect with other veterinary professionals, share experiences, build meaningful relationships and take time to reflect on where you are in your career and where you want to go next.

Because professional development isn't only about gaining clinical knowledge. It's also about understanding yourself, building resilience and creating a career that is sustainable for you.

HELP US KEEP OUR CLINIC RUNNING THIS WINTER 🥶 🇺🇦

We need your help to fund 3 new batteries to power our clinic in Ukraine, where our team provides free vet care to animals living through the war.

Last few weeks have bought a new wave of intensified attacks with civilian facilities being bombed. This winter is expected to bring continued attacks and, like last winter, long power and gas outages in the coldest months. When the electricity goes off, our clinic cannot simply stop.

Animals still need surgery, treatment, warmth, and care.

🪙1 battery = 435 usd
🪙3 batteries = 1305 usd or 988 pounds

Our clinic already has a solar power system installed, but we need three new batteries so that we can store enough energy to keep the clinic operating for 8 hours when the grid goes down.

Please donate, share this fundraiser, and help us make sure that the animals of Ukraine are not left without veterinary care when they need it most.

🇺🇦 Help us keep the lights on for Ukraine’s animals.
