A little educational post today 🐾

I’m really passionate about dog nutrition and treat every dog as if they were my own – which means I don’t use cheap, low-quality treats and nothing I wouldn’t happily feed my own dog.

There are so many options in shops, but a lot are full of fillers and unnecessary ingredients. Here’s a quick guide:
• Look for high meat content (clearly named, not “flavoured” or “derivatives”)
• Avoid artificial additives, sugar, and excess salt
• Stay away from fillers like wheat, maize, and soy

Rawhide is a big one to avoid – it’s hard to digest and not at all good for dogs. So when it comes to chews, skip processed and flavoured options and go for 100% natural choices like beef tails or pizzle sticks.

I’ll share some of my favourite treats in pictures below.

Some local pet shops I’d really recommend – ones that focus on proper, nutritionally beneficial food and treats – include: Mary Puppins Pet Pantry, Your Pets Naturally or Natural Choice Pet Foods.

Thought I’d start sharing some of my go-to dog walking gear with you 🐾
These are all products I use both with my own dog and on my walks.

First up is Twiggy Tags — I use their harnesses, collars, leads and long lines… They’re strength tested, great quality and come in some really cool colours.

One of my favourite things about the harnesses is that there’s no inner seam, so despite my Labrador moulting like his life depends on it, there’s never any hair or dirt stuck to them. And the tidal range are biothane so just wipe clean. 🧼
