We are a family home business on the edge of the New Forest in the village of Marchwood. After running a sister pet business (Forest Pet Services Marchwood) since 2009 and after seeing an increase in enquiries for guinea pig home boarding, I developed an annexe of our home into a dedicated small caged pet boarding facility that is now our 'home from home' luxury Pet Hotel. The annexe is ideal for
indoor guinea pigs and small caged pets, being self contained, light, airy and quiet , overlooking the garden and with its own independent central heating and food preparation facilities. We invested in made to measure indoor guinea pig and rabbit hutches which comply to RSPCA sizing recommendations of a minimum of 5’ x 2’ x 2’ for a pair of guinea pigs, and 6’ x 2’ x 2’ for rabbits. We also acquired indoor runs for cold or wet weather, and outdoor guinea pig, rabbit and tortoise runs for the spring and summer months. As I holiday board all kinds of small pets, the latest additions are a large indoor cage which can be adapted to house large tortoises, or groups of guinea pigs or male rats, and a tortoise table suitable for Hermann or Horsefield tortoises, with specialist UV light. We also have a high quality tall parrot cage available to borrow for larger, confident birds such as Amazons and cockatiels. I live with my husband and 3 teenagers and our own menagerie: Mabel & Hoggy our resident guinea pigs; Dini & Egg the budgies; Cinnamon the dwarf hamster; 2 White Tree Frogs, and some fish!
