Together, we’ve given over a million ex-commercial hens the free-range retirements they deserve ❤️
But while we celebrate how far hens have come, farmed quail are still left in the shadows 🐦
Right now, commercial quail are living with no specific laws to protect their welfare. Millions are kept in cages, and many arrive for slaughter with injuries – it has gone on for far too long, so we’re stepping up.
In order to spark real, systemic change, we’ve launched a groundbreaking research partnership with FAI Farms Ltd, a specialist consultancy firm that shares our drive to improve the lives of farmed animals worldwide.
As always, we want to work with the industry, rather than against them, so this research will help us better understand the landscape, the challenges and the opportunities to build a comprehensive blueprint for better treatment of quail globally.
To kickstart this vital work, we’ve pledged £28,000 to co-fund the project. This investment is the first step toward a better future for quail, but we can't take it alone. We need your support 🤝
