September is here… and don’t we bloody know it 🌧️😂
The torrential rain has arrived, which means muddy paws and your dogs getting soggy 🐾

If your dog has a coat or jumper you’d like them wearing, just leave it out for me and I’ll pop it on before we head off.

And don't forget to leave a towel by the door too. So I can give muddy paws and bellies a good rub down before letting them loose back in the house!

And here is our Pickles and he is absolutely rocking his little knitted jumper today 🥹🤎

Rain or shine, the walks still happen. ☔️🍂🐾❤️

The weather has been absolutely crazy this year! ☀️🌧️🐾

A massive thank you to all my Paw Calls parents for bearing with me while walk times have changed and routines have been shuffled around. 🤎

The dogs will always come first, so on the hotter days that’s meant earlier walks, shorter walks or changing the plan completely to keep everyone safe.

For Reggie & Ralph, when earlier walks weren’t possible because their humans were out, we brought the fun to them instead. 💦🐶

Pool days, garden play and plenty of enrichment to keep those brains and noses busy.

And judging by these two, I don’t think they were too upset about missing their usual walk. 😂💦

Here’s a little look at what Reggie & Ralph got up to on some of those hotter days.

I’m doing it because I genuinely love what I do. I love dogs. I love being outside. I love building a little business around something I actually care about. 🐾🤎

Some days are busy. Some are muddy. Some involve standing around while a dog spends five solid minutes investigating the same patch of grass. 😂

But it’s mine.

I don’t need to be the biggest dog walker, have the most clients or be doing better than somebody else.

If I’m happier, growing, learning and doing a little better than I was yesterday, that’s enough for me. 🤎

Pickles would much rather spend time with dogs than people, and if you get too close, don't be surprised if you get a face full of mud and pebbles as he makes his dramatic exit! 🤣

He's a cheeky little boy whose personality is growing every week. He adores his family, but everyone else still has to earn his approval.

A slightly overdue introduction to Bella the newest paw on the block!

I’ve actually been walking Bella for the past few weeks, but after losing Isla I took a bit of a step back from posting on social media. The walks carried on in the background, I just wasn’t sharing them.

So, officially, meet Bella.

Bella is an 11 year-old Jack Russell who now joins me twice a week, and she is one little diva.

She knows exactly what she wants and will go completely out of her way to get it. Her absolute favourite thing is rolling around on the grass, and if you let her, she would happily do it for the entire walk.

Which, to be honest, I pretty much do.

Her dad is 80 and his instructions to me are simple: just do whatever makes Bella happy.

And I am more than happy to oblige.

So if Bella wants to walk, we walk. If Bella wants to sniff, we sniff. And if Bella wants to spend half her walk rolling around on the grass like she hasn’t got a care in the world, that’s exactly what we’ll do.

Welcome to Paw Calls, Bella. I think you’re going to fit in just fine.

Not every dog needs the same decision making when it comes to warm weather.

Reg had an hour’s walk booked today, and although it was cooler than it has been, with a nice breeze and the ground cool enough for walking, it was still a little on the warm side for him.

Reg is a big lad with a thick, warm coat, so instead of doing the full hour, we had a shorter walk before heading back home for some hosepipe time.

When temperatures reach a certain point, no dog should be out walking, regardless of breed, age or size. But on warmer days where conditions are still suitable for walking, every dog still needs to be assessed individually. What’s comfortable for one dog may be too much for another.

Breed, age, size, coat, health and individual needs all matter.

And I don’t think Reg was too disappointed with the change of plan.

Although apparently part of the service now includes being used as a human towel after Reg decided to walk straight through my legs to dry himself off.

Pickles absolutely loves other dogs.

Humans? Not so much.

Today, a couple of people tried to chat to him, so Pickles responded by kicking a load of dirt there way.

They laughed but the nessage was definitely received loud and clear 😂

Bodhi, my favourite little heart stealer always the dog whos walks end up looking like he's been mud wrestling.

And he's clearly been giving lessons, because my Isla came home today in exactly the same state.
