Nail Trims 🤎

Is your dog in need of a nail trim? Did you know we offer quick appointments for specifics like nails? Kylo here is our nail model of the day, and he regularly pops in to get his nails trimmed for just £10! Just look at the difference between his front paws, after one set of nails being trimmed! Kylo will be feeling so much more comfortable and he’s looking fresh!! Nail trims are not just an aesthetic treatment - regular nail trims are preventative healthcare as overgrown nails are painful and cause mobility issues. In extreme cases of overgrown nails, the claws can become ingrown and curl in - piercing the paw pads! Regular nail trims also encourage the quick (the sensitive blood vessel and nerve within the claw) to shrink and recede further back into the paw - allowing the nails to be trimmed even shorter over time! The general rule is your dog’s nails should not touch the ground when they are standing still and shouldn’t be heard clicking on hard floors. We welcomed cutie Ted back in with us for a full groom this morning, doesn’t he look handsome?! Swipe to see the before, a proper tidy-up! So far Ted has found the grooming process very distressing, but already we are seeing slight improvements with his reactivity compared to his first groom with us!! We can see Ted in the future eventually becoming more and more chilled as we continue with his grooming journey, just like our Star of the Month - Sandie!! We are so proud of his progress already! Such a brave boy. 👏🏻🤎

STAR OF THE MONTH - SANDIE! ⭐️

We are absolutely blown away by lovely Sandie and how AMAZING her progress has been with overcoming her grooming anxiety, and so we have named her Star of the Month!! Sandie is one of our regulars and has been coming to us for a long time now, and each groom she has really struggled with fear-based aggression / biting, and often needed to be muzzled. This is very common with dogs that are highly anxious about grooming. Over the past few grooms we have noticed a gradual shift in her behaviour, and this morning it almost brought us to tears to see how far she’s come - not once did she snap at us! We had sooo many cuddles and sweet moments. Today has been the best Sandie has ever been. We are SO incredibly proud of this beautiful girl and it just goes to show that dogs really can overcome their grooming anxiety one step at a time. Sandie - you are a superstar!! 🥹🤎

We welcomed these beautiful ladies into the Snip & Snug family this afternoon for a double appointment!! How gorgeous do the girlies look?! They were so good and so chilled! We welcomed the adorable Reggie back in with us for his first ever puppy groom this afternoon!! How cuuuute is he?! His characterful little wonky ears will be the death of us!! Reggie came in for a puppy groom today! We offer puppy grooms as a gentle introduction to the grooming process, focusing on lots of positive reinforcement every step of the way, little moments of rest, as well as aaaall of the cuddles and treats! Reggie had a bath (with hypo-allergenic shampoo), brush, blow-dry, and nail trim! So many different sights, sounds, smells, and textures for our fur babies - puppy grooms are the perfect start for regular grooming. Well done, Reggie, what a brave boy!! 👏🏻🤎
