๐๐พ Poor Bentley has really been through it . ๐พ๐
He was struggling to breathe , so i got him to the vets first thing, which unfortunately led to an urgent visit to the cardiologist specialist.
Not great news. His heart murmur has progressed from a grade 3 to a grade 5, and he is now at stage 3 MVD (mitral valve disease), which means heart failure. His heart is enlarged, too. ๐
Theyโre also concerned about his thyroid reading, as it was high, and this could cause further complications and unusual in dogs so blood has been sent to an outside lab to be retested. ๏ฟผ
Bentley spent a couple of hours in an oxygen chamber and has been given diuretics to help reduce the fluid thatโs causing his breathing difficulties. Heโs now on medication, and thankfully, he already seems to be doing much better, although he is still poorly. ๐โค๏ธ
It was such a worrying and emotional day, but for now, itโs all about keeping him comfortable, giving him lots of love and TLC, and letting him rest with his mummy. ๐ฅนโค๏ธ๐ถ
Taking things one day at a time and hoping his medication continues to help him feel better.
