🐶🚫 Easter Dangers for Dogs – Keep Them Safe This Spring!

Easter may be full of treats and fun for us, but some seasonal favourites can be dangerous - even deadly - for our furry friends.

🛑 Here’s what to keep out of paws’ reach:
🍫 Chocolate eggs – human chocolate is toxic to dogs
🍬 Sugar-free sweets – especially those containing xylitol
🍞 Hot cross buns – raisins and currants are harmful
🍖 Lamb bones – can splinter and cause serious internal injuries
🌼 Spring bulbs like daffodils – toxic if ingested
🎀 Easter decorations – choking or blockage risk

👉 Please be mindful of what’s around your home this Easter. A moment of curiosity can lead to an emergency vet visit.

💛 Let’s make Easter safe and sweet, for all the right reasons.

Just a reminder to all those enjoying some lovely Easter eggs this weekend, that chocolate is toxic to dogs! Please also be aware that the chocolate and raisins found in hot cross buns are poisonous to dogs.

Please share this message to help reach more dog owners.

Stay safe and enjoy 💛

A new law came into effect on Wednesday to better protect livestock from dog attacks, with tougher penalties and new police powers.

Together, we can reduce livestock worrying and keep both dogs and farm animals safe. Here’s what dog owners can do... 🐾

You can read the full details on the new law here: https://www.gov.uk/government/news/new-law-comes-into-force-to-protect-farm-animals-from-dog-attacks

[Visual Description: An infographic titled “Keeping livestock safe: what dog owners need to know.” It includes the following points: “Follow the Countryside Code when walking your dog in rural areas,” “Always keep your dog under control and within sight,” “Always follow local signs and guidelines,” “Make sure your dog cannot escape from your home or garden if you live near livestock fields,” “It’s good practice to keep dogs on a lead around livestock,” and “Report any incidents of livestock worrying to the police or the local farmer.” Surrounding the text are illustrations of a dog, sheep, a lead, a fence, and a cow.]
