What an absolutely dreary excuse for a day! 🌧️ Didn’t stop us though… well, apart from the Spicy Sausage 🐕 who dramatically retired from active duty and buried himself under the duvet like a Victorian child with the plague.
His exact words were: “Kate, I don’t give a rat’s ass if it’s your birthday, I am NOT coming out to play in the rain!”
Honestly, the betrayal. Spoilsport. Weak links in the pack and all that 😂
The rest of us nutters me included don’t mind a bit of rain ☔️ In fact, it’s been bliss — not seen a single soul all day. No humans, no awkward small talk, no “you’ve got your hands full!” comments… perfection 👌 Not that we’re antisocial or anything… but if people could continue avoiding us, that’d be grand 😂
Jensen took Albie and Ruby to meet Ted for a lovely walk. Poor Ted had to head home a bit early though — his shoulder’s been bothering him again and it was giving him jip today. Sending loads of love from all his K9 and human pals ❤️🩹 Get well soon, LL Cool Ted — the k9 walks aren’t the same without your swagger.
I took the spaniels to Walt’s for my first walk and honestly… I absolutely adore these tiny lunatics. The second rain touched them, they transformed into caffeinated gremlins on a sugar binge 🤪
Dottie, Luna, Brax, Poppy and Betty fully committed to their favourite Olympic sport: Spanieling — a highly skilled activity involving mud, questionable decisions, selective hearing and rolling in indescribable things 🐾
Second walk was Meg, Sully, Oswald, Bear and Rolo at Stones. By this point it was absolutely HOONING it down and I was the only idiot daft enough to be out in it! Perfect 👌 . Place to ourselves!
Mad Meg and Rapid Rolo spent the entire walk auditioning for Whacky Races while Bear carefully sniffed every single blade of grass like he was conducting a full forensic investigation 🔍
Sully was treat bag monitor as usual (self appointed role, obviously) and was rocking soggy curls so magnificent he looked like Chris Kamara after a spin cycle 😂
And then… Oswald.
Now anyone who knows Oz knows being a “super boy” isn’t exactly his default setting. Loveable rogue? Yes. Slight menace to society? Also yes. Bit of a t**t at times? Absolutely. But today? EXEMPLARY ⭐️ Gold star for Oz — miracles really do happen.
Last up, my girl Nel and her partners in crime, Dolly and Luna Lab, had a lovely wander round the woods. We were already soaked through, so naturally the logical next step was: more water. Makes sense when you work with dogs who have the survival instincts of damp teabags 💦
All in all, it’s been a good day despite the great British weather!
Also… where are all the fair weather walkers now eh? 🤔 Must’ve taken their dogs batteries out, folded them away and popped them back in the cupboard till summer returns 🤦♀️🙄
Anyway… tune in tomorrow for another episode of “As the Lead Tangled” featuring your favourite soggy K9 stars! 🐾💕
