Today marks the end of the summer holidays for us and we’re taking a breather!

THANK YOU to each and every one of you who has kept us so busy ❤️ it’s been another incredible summer.

So grateful to our amazing team for their fantastic work. Showing up in high temperatures and torrential rain with big smiles and always putting the horses wellbeing above all else 🐴 we couldn’t do it without you!

We have an exceptional team of horses who have done us proud, they each bring their own strengths with their unique personalities 🩷

We’ve met some lovely new riders, from tourists making memories, those keen to get back in the saddle after a long break, to little ones sitting on a pony for the very first time. All so special to be a part of 🌟

It’s been great to see lots of our regulars taking the opportunity to get involved with more hands on pony experiences over the summer and fitting in lessons around holidays!

Feeling especially lucky to do what we do, together, with all these wonderful people around us ✨

We’re looking forward to seeing you for weekend group lessons, weekday private lessons, horse care sessions and birthday parties! Let us at it!! 🏇🏻

When we asked for rain, this wasn’t quite what we had in mind 😆⛈️

Everything is soaked but horses, riders and coaches are all still smiling 😁 (some in waterproofs, some in T-shirts!) and everything feels a lot fresher!

We’ve been having so much fun over the summer we have decided to squeeze one more summer Pony Day in! 💫

Come and join us this Wednesday for an action packed day, grooming, riding, caring for the ponies, playing games and having fun! View our previous posts to see what fun we get up to 🦄

Lots of you are excited to return and the ponies would love to meet new children too! Why not bring a friend, they don’t need to have ridden a pony before to join in 🎀

We’ve had rain, glorious rain overnight 🥳☔️💦

Didn’t think we’d ever be so excited about rain, but we have never seen Alton Piece so brown and dry. It’s a worrying time with the devastating events in Stourbridge and other areas, the hard ground adding extra strain for the horses limbs, dust everywhere for them and a serious lack of pasture! It’s wonderfully fresh today!! 🌧️

Now we need to take extra care of ponies who could be at risk of Laminitis. Rain after a long spell of dry weather can cause rapid changes to the sugar content in the grass.

Laminitis is a painful condition affecting the horse’s feet, specifically the sensitive tissues called the laminae that connect the hoof wall to the pedal bone inside the hoof.

Our most susceptible ponies are in their stables today, where they will eat hay instead of grass. The water soluble carbohydrates are more predictable in hay (dried grass) and it’s easier for us to control what they’re eating and keep them safe!

So if you have an equine at risk of laminitis, please take caution today ❤️
