The last few days we had a renovation of a large pond built 6/7 years ago which unfortunately little rodents had decide to puncture the PVC liner. The whole pond needed to be striped out and some of the paving had to be lifted so the new EPDM Rubber liner could be fitted, plus all the stone work and plants including large lilys to be removed.
Once this had been done the ground work needed some re designing and new underlay was added.
We also took the the waterfall apart for a redesign to include a bit more water flow.
Once everything was back in Simon had the difficult job of laying the old paving down so it would match up with the original level of the old paving which was down (amazing job)
Everything was re used so the more weathered look was kept, plus adding a few new plants and checking the pumps and filter it was good to go.
Part 2
The customer asked if we could do something with the patio pond that never really worked, losing water and the homemade water blade kept failing.
So a old preformed pond they had was introduced after the whole thing was stripped out, then backfilled as we filled it with water to make sure no gaps were left under the pond.
Next stage we removed some of the old wall to fit a Oase chrome water blade ,piped it up to a secondhand pressure filter with uv and original pump.
With these preformed ponds you have a lip that needs to be disguised but limited for space i didn’t want to cover it in stone which normally happens,so i took the time to cover the soil with w**d cover and then fixed pea gravel to the edge so it wouldn’t roll in.Then topped it off with larger gravel and added some new plants in and out .
The whole stone structure was already there which gave us time to get it done and up and running, using material which you already have just giving it a new lease of life.
