Back in the ring today and both Penny and Sam looking and feeling great 😍

Juggling horses and summer holidays hasn’t been easy 😵‍💫 and I haven’t ridden for over a week so a big thankyou to and the rest of the team for having them ready to go. Schools going back feels bittersweet but I was keen to knock some rust off and get back to it!
Sam was having some last prep before he goes off on his big adventure to Cornbury next week 💪 and Penny hasn’t been in the ring since the last Hickstead so we knocked some rust off and will go again next week!

Rare Lease Opportunity

I am open to exploring a lease option for Guinness but only for him to be kept on livery here with myself at Littleton Manor Equestrian in Reigate.

He is a 17h 11yo ISH gelding who has previously evented but happier and now focused on just dressage. In the last year he has quickly progressed to medium with many wins along the way. He has also qualified and competed at regionals and area festivals. He is super uphill with three good paces and is well educated to the level he is competing at with plenty of scope for more. He has an engine and is sensitive so would suit someone quiet and capable. He’s a lovely horse to do and have around and is a real trier. A great opportunity for the right person looking for a horse to learn and progress on with lots of ability.

Only considering this as I don’t have time to give him the consistency he deserves to train and compete further up the levels.
We have fantastic facilities, loads of support on offer and a wonderful community of supportive clients, trainers and staff.

Some serious miles trucked for a very worthwhile run with Basil today 🙌

Heading to Yorkshire for a run wasn’t on my August bingo card but I’m so glad we did. He was meant to run last week but going XC in the middle of the day on the scorching day plus the risk of two trips round the M25 didn’t feel like the right thing to do so we rerouted and I’m really glad we did.
A new venue for us for the first time in a while was fun and the XC was strong enough and really educational. We had a rusty/green moment at the first water and then jumped through but I dropped my stick 🤦‍♀️, not ideal at fence 5 and left me feeling quite naked 😂. It probably did me a favour in a funny way, I had to really switch on and make things happen and he got better and better as he went round. To the point that the roles then switched and he helped me on the way home when I realised the chest infection that I thought was nearly done made me realise I didn’t have a lot left in the tank 😵‍💫, so many good things to take away even if not quite to plan!

He hasn’t run a lot in the last year for various reasons and I really hope we can string a few good runs together to finish off the season as the good bits feel so good now 🤩

🤩 Boleybawn Willow

Another super double clear at yesterday. As ever working their absolute magic on the ground and giving us a great track with so many different questions to add to his education. Just the best boy with his ears pricked and taking it all in.

Thankyou for keeping him happy in the heat, another long hot day but think we will miss this summer when it’s gone!

Does anyone have a national stable available for the Thursday night that they would like to sell please?

Would anyone else like lorry space to buddy up and travel from the south east for the Friday classes, I would be going for the intermediate.

Hickstead is always a good if slightly manic day out, but absolutely worth it! Juggling rings, classes, coaching, riding, kids, drop offs, pickups and then to top it off a power cut which left us locked out the gates when we got home 🤪. It was a serious team effort today and thankyou so much to everyone that helped make it happen.

Penny and Sam jumped well, Sam getting his first Hickstead experience and even for a brief moment reminded me he is just 5! And a massive well done to .showjumping jumping Tintin round a decent 1.25, this little horse may be small but he is mighty and they make a super team.
The horses all jumped well, it’s a shame they didn’t get more than one day to jump this week as they will have learnt lots from today and it’s always nice to go again and be better!

In a week that has so much sadness I’m infinitely grateful for days like these, Sophie and Kerry have constantly been in my thoughts. I want to try and write something more erudite that puts feelings in to words but at the moment I just can’t find them is the honest truth. Life is unpredictable and precious and we are blessed to do what we do.

🤎 Sam yesterday jumping another super double clear and feeling magic 🫶

A step up in track for him, learning about hills, lots of new fences and questions and he took it all in his very special stride. I’m not wearing a watch with him at this point and giving him time where he needs it and cruising when he can, he gives such a great feel and finished full of beans 🤩.
Upton had done such a super job with the ground, it really is appreciated and frankly some sort of miracle to be able to pull that off this summer 🙏

And not to be out done Lux took part in the student riders jumping side of the competition. This also entailed three different riders with only a two minute and two fence warm up before jumping around a course in the ring 😬.

Lux was brilliant for all three and they were all so complimentary after riding her 🫶. How she hasn’t sold is beyond me 🤯 yes I’ve been honest about the fact that she can have the occasional nap and push her boundaries but she really is super straightforward for the most part and a lot of fun to ride.
