Bruce isn’t quite brave enough yet to come inside for a fuss with his Butler, so he prefers to keep the patio door between us for a little extra protection! 😂

🚰💧 Why do some cats LOVE drinking from the tap? 🐾

Regulars Gaston and Beau certainly seem to have made up their minds! 😂💦 Give them a running tap and suddenly the water bowl just doesn’t exist!

But why do cats find running water so irresistible?

🌊 Freshness: Moving water may seem fresher and more appealing than water that has been sitting in a bowl.

👂 The sound & movement: The trickling sound and movement of the water can grab a cat’s attention and encourage them to investigate — and drink!

🧼 Clean & cool: Cats can be surprisingly particular about their water. A freshly running tap can feel cleaner and more inviting than a bowl that’s been sitting out.

🐾 Natural instincts: There’s also a theory that a preference for moving water may have roots in their wild ancestors, where flowing sources could be less likely to be contaminated than stagnant water.

Whatever the reason, Gaston and Beau are clearly committed to the tap-water lifestyle! 😂👑💧

💡 Top tip: If your cat is a tap-drinker, a pet water fountain can be a great way to provide constantly moving water without leaving the tap running.
