🐾 Carefully Matched Group Walks at Wood & Water Walks 🐾

Over the past few months, it’s been amazing watching so many dogs grow in confidence, build friendships and settle into calm, structured group walks 😊🌿

I currently have several small groups running throughout the week, with a few now getting close to capacity. I’m also looking to build a couple of new carefully matched groups around the right dogs joining 🐕💚

At Wood & Water Walks, group walks are intentionally kept small — with a maximum of 4 dogs per group — allowing every dog space, attention and the chance to properly enjoy the walk at their own pace.

Some dogs thrive in smaller, calmer groups where they can gradually build confidence and relationships without feeling overwhelmed, and it’s been brilliant seeing that progress happen naturally over time 😊

Every dog in my care is fitted with a Samsung AirTag for added safety and peace of mind — whether on or off lead 🐾

Same litter, different paths… Willow & Luna join the pack 💚
Say hello to Willow & Luna, the newest members of the Wood & Water Walks family 💚

These two 7-month-old Frenchie sisters have been an absolute joy to start working with. Full of character and still learning about the world, it’s been a really rewarding first week getting to know them both.

On their initial trial, we walked them together and quickly noticed that, like many siblings, they can feed off each other a little - especially when it comes to excitement and barking. So, as always, we’ve taken the approach that works best for the dogs and moved them into separate solo walks to help build their confidence individually.

And what a difference that’s made already 👍

With that extra one-to-one time, they’ve both been able to settle, take things in at their own pace and really start showing their individual personalities. Willow is a little more cautious and can be slightly nervous around other dogs, whereas Luna is much more eager to interact - so our focus has been on building calm, controlled behaviour and positive experiences for both of them.

We’ve been working on simple voice commands, encouraging calm sits and helping them approach interactions in a more relaxed way. They’ve been really receptive and it’s been great to see how quickly they’re starting to understand what’s being asked of them.

Outside of that, they’ve both loved being out exploring - plenty of sniffing, taking in new environments, and of course stopping for a bit of fuss from passers-by along the way 😊 They’re even starting to show a little interest in the water too 💦

It’s been a fantastic start and I’m really looking forward to seeing how they continue to grow in confidence over the coming weeks. The plan will be to gradually introduce them into carefully matched group settings when they’re ready, starting with some smaller, calm groups 🐾

Too many good moments not to share… so here’s round two 💚

More muddy paws, more wagging tails, more woodland exploring and (of course) plenty of water 🌿🌊

It’s been great seeing the dogs grow in confidence, settle into their routines and build those friendships out on the walks.

A few spaces are starting to open up within some of my small, carefully matched group walks, so if you’ve been thinking about getting your dog involved, now’s a good time to have a chat 👍

🐾 April at Wood & Water Walks 🐾

What a month it’s been… 💚

New faces, growing confidence, muddy paws, wagging tails and plenty of time spent out in the woods and by the water 🌿🌊

From first walks and building trust, to seeing real progress in confidence, behaviour and socialisation - it’s been brilliant to be part of every step along the way.

There’s been:
☀️ Sunshine (finally!)
🌿 Lots of exploring
🐕 New friendships forming
💦 Plenty of paddles (and the odd full swim!)

Every dog is different, and that’s what makes it so rewarding - taking the time to understand them, match them properly, and give them the kind of walk that suits them best.

Thank you to everyone who’s trusted me with their dogs this month - it genuinely means a lot 👍

🐾 Happy feet and a gentle soul… Rocky’s first walk🐾
Say hello to Rocky, the newest member of the Wood & Water Walks family 💚

Rocky is a 4-year-old Toy Poodle with a really gentle, kind nature. He can be a little unsure of the world at times, but from the moment he greeted me this morning with those happy feet, it was clear he was ready for his adventure.

We kept everything calm and steady, giving him the space to take things in at his own pace and he settled in beautifully. He travelled really well in the van and was more than happy once we got going.

Out on the walk, Rocky was an absolute pleasure. Quietly exploring, nose to the ground, enjoying all the new smells and even having a little paddle in the water along the way 💦

He’s one of those dogs that just takes everything in gently - no rush, no fuss - just finding his feet and building confidence with each step.

A really lovely boy to spend time with, and I’m looking forward to seeing him grow in confidence and settle into his walks with us 💚

🐾 New walk, new structure… and a proper little water baby 🌊 🐾

Say hello to Ruby, the newest member of the Wood & Water Walks family 💚

Ruby is a 4-year-old Labradoodle with a lovely nature and a big personality to match. From the moment we got out, it was clear she loves being out in the world - nose to the ground, taking everything in and making a beeline for the water at every opportunity 😂

She’s a really friendly girl who just gets a little overexcited at times, especially around other dogs. So we’re taking things back a step and focusing on keeping everything calm and structured, helping her settle and build that consistency.

We’ve already started introducing some simple structure into her walks, and she’s been really responsive. Taking her time, checking in and showing some really nice engagement - all great signs so early on 👍

Out on the walk she was an absolute pleasure. Plenty of exploring, lots of paddling, and just enjoying being out in the woods and around the water.

A really lovely girl with loads of potential - just about guiding that energy in the right direction.

Looking forward to seeing her grow in confidence and settle into her adventures with us 💚

🐾 A gentle soul finding his pace… Barney’s first walk 🐾

Say hello to Barney, the newest member of the Wood & Water Walks family 💚

Barney is an 8-year-old Cockapoo with the most lovely, gentle nature. He can be a little anxious at times, but from the moment we stepped out together, it was clear just how sweet and well-mannered he is.

We kept everything calm and unhurried, giving him the space to settle and take things in at his own pace and he did just that beautifully. No pressure, no rush… just a steady, relaxed start to build that trust.

Out on the walk, Barney was an absolute pleasure. Happy to trot along, nose to the ground, taking in all the smells and enjoying the scenery around him. He even enjoyed a little paddle in the water 💦

We had a couple of really positive moments around other dogs too - calm approaches, polite interactions and then happily moving on when he was ready. For a first proper walk, it was great to see.

He’s such a gentle, affectionate lad and honestly just a joy to spend time with. The kind of dog that makes you slow down and appreciate the walk just as much as they do.

Really looking forward to watching his confidence grow and seeing him settle into his adventures with us 💚

🐾 New walk, new confidence… and a little souvenir 😂Charlie’s first solo walk 🐾

Say hello to Charlie, the newest member of the Wood & Water Walks family 💚

Charlie is a young black Labrador with a really gentle nature and a lovely personality. When we first met, he was a little unsure and just needed some time to relax and take things in which is completely fine.

We kept everything calm, gave him the space he needed and he had a really positive trial walk. Fast forward to today and it was our first proper solo walk together from an empty house - a big step for him.

There were a few nerves at the start, but we didn’t rush anything. We took our time, let him settle and once he was ready everything clicked into place. Harness on, out the door and straight into his routine - nose to the ground and settled beautifully in the van 👍

Out on the walk, he was an absolute pleasure. He loved being in the woods and around the water, taking in every scent and just enjoying being out. A really lovely lad who just needs that bit of time and reassurance to feel comfortable.

He’s already got some great training behind him and was really responsive throughout - we had a great walk in the sunshine, building that trust and getting to know each other properly ☀️

And I think it’s fair to say he enjoyed it…
👉 he even decided to take a little souvenir home from the walk 😂

Really excited to see him grow in confidence and settle into his adventures with us 💚
