So I heard today is National Dog Walkers Appreciation Day 😂 Feel free to send me some love and appreciation after what has been a very long, busy and tiring day 🥰

13 Dogs walked
2 runs from Hoghton to Chorley and back
Got drenched
Just sitting down at 8pm for my evening meal 😓

Just a little insight into the working life of a dog walker;

Whilst to some extent we choose our workload we generally work our schedule around customer needs as far as we possibly can meaning we start when we're needed and we get home, well, whenever we have managed to walk all the dogs booked in for the day, sometimes it's way too quiet, other times its hectic

We take whatever work is available as our bookings fluctuate so frequently we don't know what we'll have on from one day/week/month to the next

We often get a very short lunch break, if we get one at all, alot of the time we eat on the go, not least because most people require lunchtime walks

Dogs will be dogs and don't always conform as one might expect

We're out in all weathers, come rain or shine (although we may occasionally get extra time off if the weather is too extreme, which also has it's pros and cons)

There are many contributing factors that we need to work our schedule around which isn't always easy

All this and more is made worthwhile by the joy we find in every day, spending time in nature with our beloved furbuddies, I absolutely love my job and feel truly privileged, but believe me when I say, some days, it can be a real hard shift 😅🙈
