Solo walks enable me to take on reactive and anxious dogs, making them the priority. Giving us a space to work on confidence.

I work with you to understand your dogs triggers and behaviour to ensure they are set up for success and a positive experience when out with me.

I consider all breeds and temperaments.

Please feel free to reach out to further discuss my experience and see if I may be able to help you and your dog 🐾

AR Dog Walking specialises in Solo and same household walks to ensure your dog gets the most out of there exercise. It allows me to focus on activities to target arousal and mental stimulation rather than just creating space for movement without direction.

This week has been about welfare for my clients in the heat.

Some walks were cancelled and some swapped to indoor activity. This looked scent work or training or simply company and a toilet break.

It takes a minimum of 60 days for dogs to acclimated to temperature change and these sudden rises don't give them the opportunity. Therefore its our responsibility to manage them and their environment.

Low intensity indoor alternatives to walking can look like scent work, toy find games, puzzles, frozen lick mats and time to work on the training challenge you have.

It is essential to support our dogs as much as possible to keep them safe. But please remember that some people have no choice other than to take their dogs outside to toilet.
Some people live in apartments, some dogs don't like to toilet in their own garden so a quick trip out for them is necessary.

Of course promote safety but please be kind and if unsure please ask before assuming.

At AR Dog Walking I tailor your dog's exercise completely to them.

🌱 If they need a slower pace - we take things easy and take in the sniffs.

🌱 If they need some mental engagement - we talk about what makes them tick, what their innate drives are to make a plan to target stimulation and arousal.

🌱 If you are working on some training I am happy to follow through with what you are specifically working on for continuity.

🌱 Recovery or ongoing conditions need managing differently depending on the circumstance. As a fully qualified and practicing animal physiotherapist, I am able to offer walks and visits for dogs experiencing the above. I can provide, safe and supported,r recovery specific exercise regimes followed by visiting time so your dog has company.
