Happy Gotcha Day Ricky
A whole year has gone by so quickly since we met our lovely friend Ashleigh, who lives in Brum, at Gordano Services to pick up Ricky, a beautiful silver Bengal with FIV who had been classed as a Code Red and had only been given a week left. 💔
Ricky had been a stray for months, but Ashleigh had patiently gained his trust and was feeding him. The next step was to get him safely inside and find somewhere that could help him.
Ricky was microchipped, and thankfully, the vets who had him in were able to trace the chip back to his breeder. Unfortunately, the breeder couldn’t remember who she had sold Ricky to, so we they were unable to trace his previous owner. He was also an entire male so the vets tested him for FIV and it came back positive 😿
None of the rescues contacted were able to offer him a space, and with his time running out, Ashleigh asked if we could help.
Of course, we said yes. ❤️ Thankfully, the vets who had him also kindly neutered him for us, and the rest, as they say, is history.
And here we are, one whole year later. Ricky is safe, loved and very much part of our sanctuary family. 🥰
From a stray with nowhere to go and just days left, to a much-loved boy with a safe place to call home. ❤️🐾
Sometimes, all it takes is one person to believe that a life is worth saving, and thankfully, Ashleigh did just that for Ricky. ❤️
