As we've had quite the influx of enquiries recently, many who have clearly come from what we will politely call "hobby groomers."
We'd like to take an opportunity to spread some good old fashioned pure honesty.
- We are a legitimate, highly qualified, insured, tax paying, high street business -
- and because of this we will not just groom your dog for a back hander as we have business costs on top of a wage to earn and tax to pay, as well as standards to uphold.
The grooming industry is rife with un-qualified, un-insured people who de-value the job.
As it is an unregulated field and anyone can pick up some clippers and do it, its down to you, the consumer to make the decision on who's hands you choose to put your pet in and what qualities you value when doing this.
We are proud to know and work alongside many local (and not so local) fantastic, high quality, professional groomers and industry trainers but some of the enquires we've had sugest they have come to us after the experience of taking their pet to a 6x4 b&q special garden shed with only a cold water feed and a rusty pair of cheap sheers to someone with no real know-how.
- We will not be tarried with this brush -
Please ask yourself -
Does the groomer know what they are doing?
Do they hold the correct insurance?
Do they have the correct permissions for their premises?
If not, does that make their insurance invalid?
Is their equipment safe to use on your pet?
Are they savvy in canine behaviour?
Do they have strict policies to keep you, your pet and themselves safe?
As if this post isnt already long enough, We've complied a short list of our business costs so you can see what it takes to run a legitimate grooming business, the hardware required, the upkeep
- and the reason why we will not just groom your dog for "what you paid your last groomer."
All questions very welcome.
