As the summer is starting to draw to a close, I’m hoping the summer videos will last just a little longer to give me something to hold onto!

The winter logs have been delivered and the chimney is being swept tomorrow……..I don’t know any dogs that don’t love a log fire (safely behind the required guard). Boarding is still busy however I’m very much looking forward to a few days off soon, just Bailey, myself and the chief volunteer. A little RnR ready for October’s bookings 😉.

Waterproofs have been located, washed and re-waterproofed and new winter boots arrived already, to give me some ‘breaking in’ time before they’re required. In the words of Billy Connolly ‘There’s no such thing as bad weather………..’

I’ve been busy with day care, boarders, walking and cat drop ins especially in the past few weeks - don’t forget to book in for next year if you have plans already ☺️**

I’ve had a lovely morning spent walking my current boarders ensuring I cater for all their needs as they range from a 1 year old to a 12 year old Labrador. Finding the right balance usually involves a shorter walk and a river where they can do as much or as little swimming as they want, making the most of the sunshine ☺️.

This afternoon will be admin, plotting next year’s diary with all the dates you have sent me since Friday whist my ‘chief volunteer’ cuts the grass, strims the weeds and puts the bbq on 😊

***2027 calendar is now open***

Wow what a summer we have had. The weather has been amazing and I have managed to find some amazing walks to add to my list focussing on keeping the dogs cool throughout!

Next year’s planning is now in full swing as so many existing customers have already contacted me over the past couple of weeks - I have already booked in 179nights already! If you have some provisional dates feel free to drop me a message and I can pencil them in for you and firm them up over the next few weeks 😉.

My doggy database is currently full so I am unable to take on any new customers at the moment for boarding and daycare. Pet drop ins are still available.

I’m still in disbelief after 2years of starting my own business how lucky I am meeting such lovely people and more importantly their dogs!! 😊😊

I do still have a few dates available this year so ‘it’s always worth an ask’ Christmas has however been booked up for a while.

Holiday season is in full flow! I hope everyone, two and four legged, have been coping with the heat recently.

We’ve been keeping things a little slower, making the most of shady early morning ans old late evening walks, plenty of water and lots of cooling-off breaks. Paddling pools and frozen treats on licky mats have been some of the enrichment activities.

I’ve added a video so that you can see what we’ve been getting up to before the heat hit. More to follow.

Also I still have some dates available in August, between the 5th and the 19th, so if any of my existing clients are thinking about a last minute holiday and need care for their dogs, feel free to get in touch 🏖️ 🐾

This week’s video features a very special boy on his last stay with us before he begins a new chapter in his life.

He has been a regular face at daycare and on his little holidays with us. Like so many dogs we care for, he started as a client but became a brilliant friend.

While we’ll miss seeing his happy face, we’re so pleased he’s settling well into his new surroundings and we wish him every happiness in his next adventure.

Hopefully, he and Bailey will cross paws on the beach one day soon. Sending big love to Big S and his mum xx ❤️

⭐ Annual Licence Inspection ⭐

On Wednesday I had my annual home boarding licence inspection. Whilst answering all the questions asked of me, showing and demonstrating best practice and compliance to the Animal Welfare Inspector, Bailey took it upon himself to demonstrate just how relaxing it was here for himself and others. Fast asleep on his back cuddled up with two of his pals on the sofa! - taking it all in his stride 🤣.

All passed with flying colours and celebrated with a dog walk and a cream tea for me and a dear friend on her birthday ⭐

As the days get longer and the blue skies finally make an appearance (currently writing this sheltering from the hailstorm) there’s nothing better than seeing the dogs make the most of every adventure. From splashing through the water to racing across open fields with their friends, every walk is packed with energy, fun, and plenty of wagging tails. Watching their confidence grow, friendships form, and personalities shine is one of the best parts of what I do. Whether it’s a calm paddle in the stream or a full-speed zoomie session, every dog gets the space, care, and attention they deserve while enjoying a safe and stimulating environment.

Behind the scenes, I’ve also been preparing for my upcoming annual inspection — an important part of making sure I continue to provide the highest standards of care for every dog that stays or walks with me. From safety checks and cleanliness to enrichment and daily routines, every detail matters. It’s a great opportunity to reflect on the amazing dogs and owners who trust me throughout the year, and to keep improving everything I do. I can’t wait for another season filled with (less) muddy paws, happy faces, and plenty more outdoor adventures. EHDC Licence 42155.

March and April have been so busy, I forgot to post the last vid! The media manager is now stacked up with material sent to him by my personal editor/producer 🤣.

Busy with drop ins and lunchtime walks this week which I find a delight, to see the dogs react with excitement when I pick them up. Knowing they will be dog tired for the rest of the afternoon always makes me smile 😊
