Merrylegs Charitable Trust 1155405 Welcome to Merrylegs, an animal sanctuary nr Peterborough. Rescuing animals for over 30years. we’re n Some have been abandoned, neglected, or ill treated.

Welcome to merrylegs charitable trust, we are a animal charity based in Whittlesey near Peterborough. We have been rescuing and homing animals at our shelter for over 20 years soley funded by Oakdale Veterinary Centre in Stanground. Providing veterinary treatment, feed, water, shelter and love for all those animals that need it. Currently at the shelter we have

29 Dogs
136 C

ats
9 rabbits
2 Guinea pigs
5 Pigs
7 terrapins
5 Cattle
6 Goats
1 African grey parrot
1 Amazon Blue
1 Goffins Cockatoo
Small aivary birds
5 Ferrets
Lots of chickens and ducks

All these animals have needed a home through no fault of their own. Some have veterinary costs which are too high for owners to pay so were going to be put to sleep, we have ponies that were destined for tiger food, and stray cats, to list a few. Merrylegs will not see a healthy animal put to sleep and will do our best to nurse back to health any animal we can. Please see the rest of out page for our recent rescue stories,

Merrylegs charitable trust will be running fund raising events starting in the summer 2014 to raise money to update our shelters these will include

Have a go shows
Own a pony days
Ladies coffee morning
To name a few

This is another reason why the hard work that Tammy ,Nikki and Anita and not forgetting little Amelia do means so much to us and is so vitally important ! This sweet olde girl Mardi cardi has had a bad eye for several weeks and try as I might she out smarted me every time ! Until yesterday !!! Gotcha !! So after a message to Clare O'Dwyer about how to actually deal with this spicey old feral she will be off to be sedated and examined !I have managed to bathe it open and her actual eye ball looks ok so I’m thinking maybe she has something in it ?either way I can’t do any more or I will be shredded and she will be stressed ! ,but shes safely in a pen awaiting her taxi and treatment
