Bouncy Buzz was back this morning for part 2 of his groom and he was much calmer with no bath or dryer being involved and therefore lessening the impact of trigger stacking.

WHAT IS TRIGGER STACKING?: when multiple mild to moderate stressors e.g. car journeys, unfamiliar smells, shower sprays, loud dryers, touching paws etc occur in a relatively short period of time, pushing a dog beyond their tolerance threshold. This can result in over-excitement or reactivity. Like humans, each dog handles stress differently and will have different tolerance levels. There may also be new external stressors such as a new baby at home or a house move/renovations.

My aim as a holistic groomer is to work with you to provide the best grooming experience possible for your doggy 🐾💗

Safety in the Salon…this is brilliant, bouncy Buzz who I have been grooming since he was a puppy 🥰

As Buzz gets bigger and bouncier he can be quite a handful (albeit a delightful one) and he does not like being in the bath one tiny bit! As a sole groomer I have to be honest and ask myself “can I manage this dog on my own?”

Working with his humans I am trying different approaches to help Buzz be groomed safely eg. split grooms, home bathing or even the owner staying for the groom. As a holistic groomer I am always thinking about what is best for the dog and offering flexibility when I can rather than a ‘one size fits all’ approach to grooming.

To find out more about holistic grooming please ask and I’ll talk about it forever 😂

It was a big waggy good morning from Ruby this morning! 😊

Ruby’s mind is very willing but her body sometimes doesn’t keep up (I know the feeling!) No problem at all. Ruby gets groomed on a big comfy blanket on the floor which lets her relax and enjoy her pamper 💤🐶💗

My salon is large enough to accommodate most doggy’s requirements while also being a calm and safe environment. Please ask on booking if your pet has any particular requirements x
