Before and after of our most recent board and train with Bella and Maple.

They came to us with no recall and both pulled like trains. In fact, Bella had some of the worst recall I’d seen in a long time. She would hunt all day and would only come back if she wanted to.

We spent their stay working on getting them into a better emotional state, building some clarity and teaching them what we actually wanted from them.

Bella was e-collar trained for recall, and both learnt to walk nicely to heel.

They were tough dogs to crack but they’ve come a long way in a relatively short space of time. Really happy with how they’ve both turned out.

Session 5 with Maple.

The behaviour is done by this point, it’s just a matter of making sure she can do it anywhere.

Late to the party posting this one. This level of videography and editing takes time sometimes.

Two weeks of Lily.

I will forever be impressed by how quickly dogs can change and recover from previous behaviour and thought processes.

Us, as humans, recover slower and usually slow down the process for the dogs.

Sometimes, you just have to put your fears aside and listen to the dog.

Session 3 with Maple.

Walking on the pavement and adding in stops.

Teaching the heel doesn’t need to be complicated and shouldn’t take forever.

Session 1 with Maple.

I’m going to try sharing more training footage like this from now on, giving you a better look at the dogs and training we’re working with day to day.

More to come!

We did a thing! 💍

We’re taking a little break because we got married!

We’ll be away for a couple of weeks celebrating, so if we’re a bit slower replying to messages than usual, that’s why.

Appreciate you all and we will be back soon!

🇬🇧 Happy Armed Forces Day 🇬🇧

I was never very good at taking photos for memories of my time in the military… always too busy dossing with my dogs.

Step one of building a good recall is to build motivation…. Not sure if we need to build some more?
