💙A Friendly Reminder for All Dog Owners 💙

Did you know that in the UK, it is a legal requirement for your dog to be both microchipped and wearing an ID tag when out in public?

It is recommended that a collar tag should display your surname, postcode and phone number. Your dog's microchip details must be kept up to date. Even if your dog is microchipped, they still need to wear an ID tag when in public.

Why is this so important?

💙 It gives your dog the best chance of being reunited with you if they become lost.

💙 It allows members of the public to contact you quickly.
It helps prove ownership.

💙 It can save valuable time and reduce stress for both you and your dog.

💙 Vets can scan and reach out to you which could avoid council kennel costs if they go to the warden.

Failing to comply with these legal requirements can result in fines, and outdated microchip details can also lead to penalties

As pet owners, we all hope our dogs never go missing, but accidents can happen in seconds. Taking a few minutes to check that your dog's tag is readable and your microchip details are current could make all the difference.

🐶 Today might be a great day to give your dog's ID tag a quick check and make sure your contact details are still up to date.
Because every dog deserves the best chance of finding their way back home 🏠 💙
