My Story
My name’s Dave.
I’ve had dogs and cats all my life, and I’ve been grooming professionally for 7 years now.
Before this, I worked as an audio-visual technician for over 15 years. I loved the job, especially training new starters and watching them grow. But after a life-changing experience, I realised how short life really is.
I was always away from home.�Always working.�Always on someone else’s schedule.
I remember saying, “If I could just work with my dog all day and go fishing when I wanted… that’d be perfect.” 😊
Not long after, someone offered me the chance to buy a mobile dog grooming franchise.
I laughed at first.�Me? Grooming dogs? 😂
But I gave it a go.
After one week of intensive training, I was stood in the back of a van with clippers in my hand and a customer asking for their dog to look like a teddy bear.
Terrifying? Yes.�Worth it? Absolutely.
I treated my first year as extended training, slowed my diary down, focused on skill over speed, and built properly.
Fast forward to now:
✔ I earn between £200–£350 a day�✔ I choose when I work�✔ I take holidays when I want�✔ I go fishing when I like�✔ I’ve watched my 4-year-old son grow up from day one
I’ve also trained others, including the person who bought my franchise, and they’re now thriving and loving the freedom this career brings.
This job changed my life.�And it can change yours too.
