This weekend it's the Best Paw Forward Rally Obedience Summer competition, celebrating 15 years of the Club.
We have sponsored a couple of the classes - Level 1 on the Saturday, and the Reward Class on the Sunday.
Lisa and I are there on the Sunday as i'm judging Level 4 and Veteran and Lisa is my trusty scribe.
I know we'll see a few of you as you are in my classes!

Here are the beautiful rosettes courtesy of Fenn rosettes. Liz has done a grand job! I've been so impatient to get my hands on them after spending weeks deliberating over designs!

A Supportive Sniffing session has been added for November at a new venue.
We'll be at Canalside Paws which is a secure paddock with a bit of a difference to the traditional secure fields - there's an all important human loo for a start! There is also an indoor hub plus various doggy activity stuff we can utilise, and a lovely pub style table beside the canal in case we just fancy a picnic 😆 (but don't worry, those water babies are safe behind a 6ft fence and cannot help themselves to a swim).

We have a few spaces available on our Indication Workshop with Rebecca Grant - On Point Scentwork.

This workshop is for you if:

🐾 You are striving for a perfect indication with increased duration
🐾 You are trying to eliminate biting, licking or trashing
🐾 Your dog comes off odour quickly as you raise your arm or on the judge's 'correct' call.

Rebecca is a professional dog trainer with over 15 years experience.
For the last 7 years, she has focused on Scentwork training with multiple dogs competing up to Scentwork UK level 12, National Nosework Association Enhanced and Nosework Games level 5.

Rebecca is also a Scentwork UK Trial Manager and Judge for Tiers 1, 2 and 3, and a National Nosework Association ORT Assessor, Trial Host and Judge.

Ok, here's my last attempt at 13th September before I scrap the day completely...
The 2 workshops I have tried to put on have so far had next to no interest. Is it the date that is the issue or the event?

Is there anything in particular people want? Shelford Village Hall is booked long enough for a single trial or a half day 'thing'.

There is just a month left so time is running out.

Despite some years of experience in a variety of dog sports, neither Lisa or I are Dog Trainers and we never claim to be, that's why we get guest trainers in for workshops.
We are Judges, Trials Managers and Organisers as well as competitors, that is all we are qualified to do.
Our 'Supportive Sniffing' isn't a class, it's a session whereby everybody pitches in to set searches for each other, share ideas and offer feedback.
Anything else we do is either simply a fun event, or it's a trial that we are eligible to hold and/or judge.

Within the next few months we will be holding our first Nosework Games competition.

If you want to find out what it's all about, or you're not competitive but would still like a rosette and to take part, then try NWG Skills Assessments instead.

We are holding our first lot of Level 1 assessments on 24th October. Games will be:

Hidden Treasure
Vehicle.

You can choose to do one, two or all 3 of these games. Rosettes will be awarded for each game you pass.
Successfully complete 8 games and you can send off for a lovely big rosette.
