Unfortunately I need to announce that I shall be stepping back temporarily from social media for a few weeks. Sadly, I lost a close member of family recently so I need to focus elsewhere. The rescue will still be open so please message directly if you find a hedgehog you suspect needs help. Thank you all for your understanding❤️

Ever since I let my garden go wild and use only a mowed path, I have had lots of hedgehog visitors. Tonight I was blessed with mum and her little one. Probably about 4 weeks old this one🥰

That’s more donations dropped off to the City Hub Ukraine in Carrington! This time it included:

- Animal Beds/Blankets - thank you to my friend Alanah for sorting
- Catheter Bags - thank you to Lynne at OT Fundraisers CIC Hucknall for dropping off
- Medications - thank you to my Nan for donating these

I receive a lot of donations as a rescue, some items I can’t use unfortunately. However, I always make sure to pass this stuff onto other needing charities to help even more people! It’s nice to know we are saving tonnes of waste going to landfill at the same time 😁

Since I’ve let my garden go wild and just mowing a footpath to the bottom, I’ve started to get my own wild visitors🥰🦔

Letting your garden go a little bit wild is a brilliant thing to do for British wildlife like !

Think leaves, logs, and letting the grass grow long with wildflowers and weeds!

MAY & JUNE STATS: 📊

A little behind but better late than never! A good couple months on the whole as the busy months start. It’s a good job I got the shed up and running in time.

MAY:
• 2 admissions
• 1 release
• 3 transfers from Yvonne Stabbo & Sandiacre Spikey Rescue whilst she went away, all returned before my holiday

JUNE:
• 4 admissions
• 2 releases
• 2 died, one sadly had to be PTS
• 2 transfers from Yvonne and both released in Hucknall

Pictured is Little Tina (shoutout to Mum for the name) who is my only hoglet in currently. She’s piled the weight on from admission weight 114g on 22nd June to 290g now! Won’t be long before she’s out exploring the wild.

I’ve updated my Amazon wish list ready for it to get manic again if anyone would like to donate🥰🦔

Garden & sports netting can harm !

Their spines can get stuck & even if they do manage to escape, serious problems can develop where skin is damaged (which may not even be visible at first).
🦔

So when you've finished showing off your footie skills, tie up goals & make sure any netting is at least 30cm off the ground so 'hogs can pass safely underneath.

New admission this evening, a tiny hog only 45g and about a week old. Thank you to finder Emma for getting it to me so quickly. Luckily this one has been spotted sooner rather than later as its belly and neck is full of flystrike!

It’s warming up in the incubator and had its first feed of critical care to avoid bloat. Slowly removing the fly strike but I can’t keep it out too long as they aren’t regulating their own body temperature at this age. Please send your best wishes for this little one TBC as Spike or Spikella🤭🥰🦔
