We love seeing the ducks and geese playing in the pond 🦆 It’s really important to see our animals in their natural habitat displaying regular behaviours 🥰 Especially the geese who did t fit in the last pond 🫣

Thank you to everyone who donated to our new pond project 🙏 it was a really labour of love trying to get it completed over the winter 💪 Boy are we glad we did, the ducks and geese certainly needed it over the summer!

We have loads of projects we want to get done to improve the site for our animals, volunteers and visitors so please donate to the farm to help us get some of these ticked off our to do list ✅

Looking for a way to give back to your local community as a business? Why not enquire about Community Impact Days right here at Stonebridge City Farm & Gardens 👩‍🌾🧑‍🌾👨‍🌾

Teams contribute to meaningful, visible work while spending time together in a grounded, non-commercial setting. It’s a practical way to support a local charity while strengthening teamwork and connection 🤗

Projects vary depending on the season and site priorities and may include maintenance, building or repairing animal shelters, painting, and gardening tasks. All work is supervised and forms part of the farm’s ongoing upkeep 💪💚

Prices start from £15 per person and we recommend group sizes between 5 - 15 people 👯‍♀️👯👯‍♂️ If you're interested, drop us an email on [email protected] to get booked in!

Over the summer we been joined by teams from It's in Nottingham Coca-Cola,
Specsavers, Ideagen and Capital One, who did a variety of different tasks on site and got us ready for the school holidays 🎉

We don’t often post about the sheep because they usually run away whenever we try to get close and take photos 👀🐑

Today we spent a bit more time in the paddocks, letting them get accustomed to our presence. Slowly but surely they began to relax and let us get closer and get some good snaps 📸

It got us thinking about how much the same can be true for people. Sometimes we need a little time to feel comfortable around others, to find our feet, settle into a space and regulate before we’re ready to connect.

At Stonebridge we believe there shouldn’t be any pressure to arrive and immediately feel at home. Whether you’re visiting for the day, joining as a volunteer, or simply taking some time to be around the animals and gardens, we’re here to support you at your own pace 🤗

For some people, that might mean getting involved straight away. For others, it might mean taking a little longer to find their confidence, becoming familiar with the space, or simply being around others without needing to do very much at all.

Just like our sheep, we all have different ways of finding our sense of safety and connection. And sometimes, having the time, space and patience to get accustomed to something new can make all the difference.

So if you’re on your own journey, remember you don’t have to rush. We’re here when you’re ready 🌱🐑

🌱 Meet one of our wonderful Stonebridge volunteers! 💚

He’s been volunteering at Stonebridge City Farm & Gardens for a few months now and has become a familiar face on Mondays. He originally started volunteering to try something different and keep himself busy and he certainly does that here! 💪He’s always ready to find the next job that needs doing and, most importantly, loves helping people 🥰

One of his favourite things about volunteering at Stonebridge is meeting new people. He and his support worker are always happy to stop for a chat, and it’s lovely to see the connections that grow from these everyday moments.

Recently, a visitor joined them to help prepare the animal food bags. Although they didn’t share the same language, it didn’t stop them from working together, laughing and having a great time. 🐐🌿

It’s moments like this that show the importance of connection and community. Stonebridge provides a safe, accessible green space where people can come together, feel included, contribute, learn new skills and support their wellbeing.

For us, volunteering is about so much more than getting jobs done, it’s about creating opportunities for inclusive volunteering, community wellbeing and meaningful connection. 💚

💚 We want to say a HUGE thank you (again) to the team at Acorn Windows Nottingham Ltd for their generosity to the farm! 🤗

You might remember last year they fitted new windows in Kevin's Kingdom, allowing people to actually be able to see him without the windows steaming up! 🐢💚

Well they're back at Stonebridge donating windows, time and their expertise 🪟 We truly wouldn't be able to finish the new shop without. Or it would be freezing come winter time!
