Fantastic afternoon yesterday with little Finch, huge thanks to Natalie Cannon, Craiwarn Gundogs for a great session and all your help with him. Thank you Lynn Redman for organising and for the lovely pictures!
Also huge thanks to Ciara Leigh-Anne Cooke for picking him for me and trusting me with him. I'm really excited to see him grow and flourish even more 🥰🐾

Incredibly proud of both children and dogs once again this weekend.
Both of the girls ran in Dovevalley's young handlers test and they continue to amaze me.
Ellie ran Fern, Laxtongate Ispy, and Lola ran Wren, Blazebeck Venus of Laxtongate.
It's the first time Ellie has ran Fern as we are still working out which dog works best with her and I think we have definitely found the answer! Fern was an absolute star and even when Ellie forgot which dog she had Fern worked out what she wanted and delivered. They finished 3rd and both had the best day!
Lola made me burst with pride. At the age of 7 she took herself and her dog to each judge on her own, listened to what they were asking her to do and carried it out when she was told to. Wren worked absolutely beautifully for her and between them they didn't drop a mark over the whole day. Her independence and confidence was a joy to watch and the feedback from the judges and stewards was lovely.
Once again a huge thank you to Gamekeepers Goods for their continued support and for kitting the girls out so beautifully. They really are an amazing team who I can't recommend highly enough.

Incredibly proud of the girls this weekend, they ran in the young handlers test at KSSLRC on Sunday. I cannot thank the club enough for how amazing they made the girls day, everyone was so welcoming, friendly and supportive from the committee to the judges and other competitors, even spectators!
It was Ellie's first time running in a test with absolutely no experience of training day or anything else at just 4 years old and even when things didn't quite go to plan she kept smiling and never once blamed the dog (though it was definitely the dogs fault for going off looking for something more interesting and even checking out the judges lunch 🤣🙈)
Lola is gaining experience all the time and was very professional throughout the whole day, this year I haven't gone to each test with her, she has taken her dog to the judges on her own, listened to what they have asked her to do and handled her dog completely by herself, at the age of 7 she takes the challenge on like she's been doing it for a lifetime.
Both dogs were also incredible, holly is nearly 9 now and hasn't done a test for about 7 years- she's also never been handled by a child and although she had her own opinions of how to do things she retrieved everything she was asked to and every test apart from the walk up had a blind element!
Wren was miss perfect as usual 🥰 I think I am losing my dog more and more! She even chooses to sleep with Lola now too!
The results were as follows

Also a huge huge thank you to Gamekeepers Goods for the girls super smart waistcoats and hats! These ladies constantly go above and beyond not just for their ambassadors but for the entire gundog world. Having just come from a very busy Skinners world cup and preparing for Sherborne team challenge they still managed to organise kit for the girls.

In case anyone was concerned that my dogs aren't being properly compensated for their efforts lately- this has just arrived from Mabel's Natural Pet Supplies and they can't wait to try them out!
