For those needing help and support with dogs that are fearful of fireworks, I have written a 28 page guide packed with advice and methods I have found extremely useful over the past 30+ years.
It covers natural remedies, practical tips for adapting the routine, making dens, gut health and link to anxiety, subtle signs of stress in your dog, body work techniques, enrichment ideas and ways you can help your own stress levels at this time of year.
There`s also a list of my favourite products that I regularly use with discount codes.
I will also post a few demonstrations of how to carry out some of the bodywork techniques spoken about in this guide.

After a tricky growing season, the intense heat has gone and we've had rain. Which means the garden has sprung into action again.
I picked salad leaves, kale, herbs, blackberries, green beans and chard, some of which can be shared and added into the dogs meals.

If you are a budding forager or simply want to take a deep dive into learning more about the wild plants of the hedgerows and meadows then I have started a series of guides.

🌿So far on the list I have hawthorn, rosehip, nettle, cleavers, dandelion, elder, wild garlic, blackthorn & mugwort and no doubt the list will increase.

Something to learn about in the darker evenings ahead perhaps?

If there is enough interest I can set up a membership or a short course.

First in the mini seasonal E-guides is Autumn. It is currently free on the website to celebrate the Autumn Equinox.

🍂All the links below to download from the website.

I have written a mini E-book guide to Autumn which is currently free to download to celebrate the Autumn Equinox. It contains information on seasonal foraging, autumn rituals, crafts to make, recipes and a relaxation guide to get you tuned into this beautiful time of year. 🎃🍁🍂
Now, whilst this subject is very much my thing & there are other seasonal guides to follow, anything computer related is certainly not! So, if there are any problems downloading it please get in touch. This is the first guide so I am on a learning curve 😆

I have just picked the first of the homegrown pumpkins🧡
As well as roasting some for soup, they`ll be used to make pumpkin puree for the dogs and stored in small pots in the freezer.
Pumpkin is perfect for the dodgy tummy days and to add some seasonal veg and fibre to the dogs mealtimes over autumn/winter months. It works perfectly with Digest & Rest herbal blend too.
If you can`t find pumpkins then butternut squash is sold in most supermarkets all year round.
Here is the recipe on todays blog & link to Digest & Rest:

A lovely customer has been in touch with a story about her dogs injury and the power of the Hedgerow Hounds Green Clay.

She was walking her dog, when he went into long grass where unfortunately there was a lot of broken glass.
He badly sliced his paw open and was rushed off to the vet.
The vets stitched his pad and the journey to recovery began.

His owner explained the challenges to heal the pad on a large Malamute, in the hot weather we had this Summer. The stiches then failed, and the pad split open again, so more dressings were applied, further delaying the healing process. So another 4 weeks in dressings, with a few more set backs.
When the dressings could come off, the area was cleansed followed by daily applications of the Green Clay powder. This is when the healing really accelerated and within 10 days the split had healed over and he was sound again.

The clay is an absolute essential for your first aid kit, it is human grade and suitable for all members of the family both 2 and 4 legged!

The Hedgerow Hounds clay is of a particularly high quality and very fine in texture, which you need when applying to sore, traumatised skin.

This beautiful spray called Settle Petal is a blend of gentle yet effective herbal essential oils and botanicals to offer support to the anxious, stressed and reactive dog. Its a perfect partner to the Tranquil blend.
