Apollo 🩵

this Handsome boy came to see me after an accidental sunflower oil incident left his coat needing a good wash! 🌻
Accidents happen, and sometimes our kitties find themselves in sticky situations!
The important thing is knowing how to help them safely.
Cats coats and skin can be sensitive, so his owner did exactly the right thing by bringing him to me to be cleaned using cat-safe products suitable for his coat 🐱🫧

He was such a good boy throughout 🥰

This little lady loved the bath but isn’t the biggest fan of having her nails done due to previous bad experiences elsewhere
and the dryer definitely wasn’t her cup of tea either! 🫣

So rather than rushing her, we took our time and built up her trust & got her to see that we won’t hurt her nails 🥰
We managed to get those nails done with plenty of patience, plenty of kiss and plenty of belly rubs.
Nails clipped and filed down ✅
and because the dryer wasn’t for her,
we took advantage of the sunshine and sat outside to do the nails and that let her dry naturally ☀️🌸

Grooming isn’t always about getting everything done as quickly as possible. Sometimes it’s about listening to what your dog is telling you, adapting to their needs and helping them learn that grooming doesn’t have to be scary 💕

Just look at how handsome this boy is 😍😍

Doodles are gorgeous & fluffy dogs,
but do you know how much their coats need to be regularly groomed to keep them looking and feeling their best?
Keeping up with regular brushing at home, alongside professional grooming appointments, makes a HUGE difference! 🩵

Each doodle can be different in terms of maintaining;
Curly coats: More prone to matting, so frequent brushing is essential!
Wavy coats: Can tangle easily, especially behind the ears and under the legs.
Straighter coats: May be easier to maintain, but can still knot and shed depending on the coat.

We like to see our doodles between 4-8 weeks depending on coat type and home maintenance!

There’s nothing quite like a good brush-out to help remove that loose undercoat and leave your kitty feeling fresh and fluffy (with a LOT less fur floating around the house! 😂)

A lion cut is sometimes the best and kindest thing we can offer for a cat who has severe matting 🦁
Please don’t feel embarrassed if your cat has become matted — it happens, and there’s absolutely no judgement here! 🐱💕
My job is simply to help get them comfortable again and a lion cut is a great way to start fresh!

Recently, I’ve been told that my prices are “too expensive” for cat grooming.

And it honestly made me think about how easy it is to look at the price of a groom and think “that’s a lot of money for a haircut & brush .”
But cat grooming is so much more than this!

❤️ You’re paying for my time, skill and experience.
❤️ You’re paying for someone who understands cats personalities & different breeds fur types.
❤️ You’re paying for the possibility that your cat may p**p or wee on my grooming table… or in their carrier/box. Yes, it happens! 😂 And it means stopping what I’m doing, cleaning, disinfecting and making everything safe again.
❤️ You’re paying for the fact that cats can scratch, bite, wriggle and kick when they’re frightened or uncomfortable. Cat grooming comes with a genuine risk of injury to both the cat and the groomer.
❤️ You’re paying for me to carefully shave their bellies, bum and privates when needed — working around some of the most sensitive areas on their body with sharp equipment.
❤️ You’re paying for mat removal, deshedding, nail trimming, paw pad and hygiene work, not simply taking some length off their coat.
❤️ You’re paying for premium shampoos and products chosen specifically for cats and their individual coats.
❤️ You’re paying for properly maintained scissors, blades and clippers. Keeping grooming tools sharp and up to date isn't a luxury — it helps me work safely, efficiently and comfortably for your cat.
❤️ You’re paying towards the costs of running a professional salon — electricity, water, laundry, cleaning and disinfecting products, equipment maintenance and general salon costs.
❤️ You’re paying for insurance that protects both you and me.
❤️ You’re paying for the hours that you don't see — admin, messages, bookings, cancellations, cleaning, preparing the salon and everything that happens before and after your cat walks through the door.
And most importantly…
❤️ You’re paying for someone who genuinely cares about your cat.

A groom isn't always straightforward. Sometimes a cat needs extra time, Sometimes they need breaks, Sometimes we have to change what we planned because their welfare comes first.Sometimes the groom takes much longer than expected.
And sometimes… I spend half the appointment cleaning poo off everything. 😂💩
That is cat grooming.
It isn't just a haircut.
It's a skilled service, a messy service, a physical service and one that comes with a huge amount of responsibility.

So when you look at the price of a cat groom, please remember that you're not simply paying for the minutes of brushing!
You're paying for everything that goes into making that groom as safe, comfortable and professional as possible. ❤️

I will always keep my prices as fair and competitive as I can, but I also have to make sure that my business is sustainable!
