Well, our 1st Old Farts on Horses meet was an enjoyable success! The old saying "you're never lost when riding your horse" came to mind today as we covered many miles in beautiful surroundings in the company of new friends......and we managed to miss any rain!

The horses all behaved impeccably and the ride out was thoroughly enjoyable.

We are hoping to set another meet up soon. If anyone has any suggestions please comment below, whether it's an organised ride out we can join or if the hacking local to your yard is worth a visit or just a simple beach ride near you were happy to travel to meet up with you

16th July Mitford Morpeth NE61 3PZ(new hunt ride)
30th July Hadrians Wall with bar and bbq. Pre entries only. £25.

🎉🐎 1st Old Farts on Horses meet! 🎉🐎

Chopwell Wood, High Spen (NE39 2AG);
Meeting at the grassed area of the main carpark at 1pm on Sunday 25th June 2023.

You're more than welcome to bring a friend or two, regardless of their age. The more the merrier! 😊🐎🐎🐎

If anyone needs transport please comment location below (postcode only please) and hopefully someone near you from the page, may be able to support for a share of fuel costs.

We're looking forward to meeting up with you all and hopefully getting some more ideas from you on a location/activity for our next meet.

Northumberland pleasure rides. 30th July. A ride along hadrians wall including a bar and bbq. Starting from NE49 9PP. Pre booked entries only www.horseevents.co.uk £25

Every Wed evening 6pm tynedale riders. The hunt escorts you on a 2hr ride over beautiful Northumberland countryside.

17th Sept Hulme Park Alnwick pleasure ride with optional jumps around Alnwick Castle.

There's another ride on 24th Sept - details tbc at a later date

Hi, we just wanted to elaborate more on the purpose of this page. The purpose is mainly to enhance the equestrian network in your areas within the Norrh East.
If you can comment the region you're from (no specific adfresses just localities i.e. Rowlands Gill or Spennymoor etc.) and whether you have your own transport this will help us link you in with others from your area that need support with transport to any future events we hold. Some of you may be interested in trying trail hunting some just to hack along the beach and watch the sunset but we'll try to link you with others nearby that want the same.

Also if you know of any events happening in your area like a fun ride, local woodland trails that allow horses, equestrian centres that rent XC trails or local beach rides, we can coordinate a meet with all group members and look to establish regular meets for people who no longer want the hassle of competition days but still want to enjoy our horses and ponies to the full.

***No politics or disrespectful comments to anyone engaging on the page please. We will all have different levels of competency and different levels of confidence. We will all have individual types of interests and horses with varying capabilities. Let's make this a safe and fun page!
