MONDAY MEET: A VERY SPECIAL ONEā¤ļø
Usually, Mondays are about introducing you to the animals I care for. But today, on what would have been my mumās 68th birthday, it feels only right to introduce you to her.
Meet my mum, Dianeš
My mum built a successful career in scientific publishing, but I donāt think she ever realised just how far her influence reached.
After we lost her, we received letters and messages from people all over the world telling us how her support, encouragement and opportunities had shaped their lives and careers. Some even credited their success in the industry to my mum. Discovering just how many people she had helped was incredibly special.
I lost my mum suddenly in December 2022, and my life changed completely.
During that time, Lola became my lifeline. On days I didnāt want to leave the house, she got me outside, kept me connected to people and gave me routine, companionship and a reason to keep going.
It showed me first-hand just how important dogs can be for our mental health and became a huge part of what inspired Coganās Canine Care.
I wanted to create something positive from everything that had happened, while keeping my mumās legacy and values going.
Sadly, my mum will never get to see Coganās Canine Care. She never saw my first booking, listened to me chat about all the dogs, or watched this little idea grow into something Iām so proud of.
I really wish she had.
But she is part of Coganās Canine Care. She always has beenš
Losing my mum changed the course of my life and Lola showed me the incredible impact dogs can have on our lives. Together, those experiences shaped what Coganās is today.
It has always been about more than walking dogs. Itās about caring for the people at the other end of the lead too.
Happy birthday mum. Not a day goes by where I donāt think of youā¤ļø
