🎉 CELEBRATING 30 YEARS 🎉
Then & Now
Celebrating 30 years in business
1996-2026
In 1996, diagnostic equipment levels were low. Quite a number of practices did not have X-ray machines, scanners, or labs.
I purchased my first X-ray machine in 1996 when I opened in Moira. All development was done in a dark room, wet with trays of developer water and fixer. The film was hung up to dry on lines with clothes pegs. The process limited the number that could be taken in a reasonable time and it all took a lot more skill, The final pictures were displayed to the client using a light box with a flourish.
Now we have three DR X-ray setups. When the X-ray is taken the picture appears on a computer screen in about 3-5 seconds, It can then be cropped, enlarged, and magnified hugely and this means improved diagnosis and is a lot easier. We can take a huge number of shots to get the exact view. As standard, we do about 34 shots for a horse vetting and the client can view the shots as they are taken, They can be emailed world wide so that everyone can give their opinion, This is very helpful, occasionally!!
