Carlos, Director of Tag, has spoken 🐾📣

Carlos runs a very tight operation when it comes to a game of chase. The moment Harvey pauses for a perfectly sensible rehydration break, Carlos is straight in there barking orders like there are far more important things at stake than drinking water 😂

The others are off in their own little worlds, but Carlos has one focus and one focus only - getting Harvey back on the job so the game of tag can finally begin.

And to be fair, it works. Harvey gets the memo, the chase is on… and then, just as quickly, they’re both back at the stream for another drink.

All that urgency.
All those instructions.
For a game that lasted about three seconds flat.

Sun’s out, chaos restored ☀️🐾

After the afternoon downpour, the clouds cleared, the blue skies came back, and the dogs wasted absolutely no time making the most of it.

One minute it was peaceful countryside calm… the next it was full-speed fetch, frantic sniffing missions, and spontaneous games of tag-you’re-it tearing through the long grass like they’d all been personally recharged by the sunshine 😂

Honestly, the rain barely stood a chance. The moment the sun reappeared, so did the madness.

Houston, we may have a problem… or two earthworms in disguise 🪱🌿

Something’s clearly gone wrong with Carlos and Harvey. Both seem to be having a full-blown identity crisis and have decided they’re no longer dogs, but some sort of meadow-dwelling earthworm, mole… or perhaps low-budget lawn aerator.

There they are, flat out in the grass, wriggling about like they’ve forgotten their doggyness entirely. Either that, or the grass smelt so outrageously good they simply had to apply it like aftershave and roll themselves in it for maximum effect 😂

Why wear a scent when you can become the scent?

Carlos: “Excuse me, where is Harvey?” 🤨🐾

It’s a real treat having Carlos with us outside his usual routine today… although he does seem slightly offended that Harvey isn’t immediately available at paw’s reach to entertain him 😅

Poor Carlos keeps trying to get the games going, but River has completely given up on relying on humans for her favourite game of fetch. She’s now taken matters into her own paws - happily entertaining herself with the ball and throw stick like an independent queen.

Carlos, understandably, finds this deeply inconvenient. So after realising no one was going to cater to his play schedule, he simply took off for a few solo zoomies and an enthusiastic one-dog game of fetch instead 😂

When your usual playmate is absent, sometimes you just have to become your own entertainment.

Milo, Head of Health & Safety… apparently 🌿💧

Milo has become completely fixated on this stump in the stream and there are only two possible explanations.

Either he’s trying to remove it in the interest of public safety - thank you for your service, Officer Milo 👮‍♂️🐾
or he’s taken dental hygiene very seriously and decided this is today’s giant natural toothbrush.

Meanwhile, not one of the others is remotely interested in helping. River and Max are far more concerned with staring at the human and silently demanding the next round of fetch, while Kiri tries to persuade Olly into the water for a swim… which, let’s be honest, was never going to happen 😂

Everyone has their role on the walk.
Milo’s just happens to involve stream-side woodworking.

Sniff now, questions later 🌿🐾

Olly kept close to Kiri as he carefully navigated the tall grass like a tiny explorer on a very important mission. Sensible. Measured. Taking it all in.

Milo, on the other hand, had absolutely no time for group plans. His nose was working overtime, head buried deep in the grass after what was clearly the scent discovery of the century. Every call to rejoin the gang seemed to fall on delightfully deaf ears… until he finally decided, in his own time, that he was ready to return 😂

Some dogs like to stick with the tour guide.

The Art of Grass Performance 🌿😂

Some dogs trot politely through the meadow.
Olly? Olly prefers to become one with it.

One minute he’s doing a slow-motion army crawl through the grass like he’s on a top-secret mission… the next he’s stretching, wriggling and absolutely playing up to the camera like he knows full well he’s the main character today 🎬🐾

A little pose here. A little crawl there. A full-body grass bath for dramatic effect.

Honestly, if there were awards for meadow-based performance art, Olly would already have his acceptance speech prepared.

Post-heatwave zoomies are officially back 🌧️🐾

After last week’s heatwave and today’s lovely cool rain, the gang were very happy to be out and about again exploring their favourite spots. The river was looking very full and almost bursting its banks, so River and Max were quite content to take it all in at a more civilised pace.

Carlos and Harvey, however, decided a full-speed muddy chase was long overdue 🤪💨
Cue skidding paws, flying mud, and Milo charging in behind like the self-appointed referee to the chaos.

Some dogs enjoy the scenery.
Some dogs become the scenery.
And some just want to cause a little mud-fuelled mayhem.

That’s a wrap… or just a tactical recharge? 😴☀️

Naru looks like she’s officially called time on the afternoon activities… but let’s be honest, this is probably just a micro power nap before she’s back up and ready for round… well, who even knows what round we’re on now? We lost count a long time ago 😂

Meanwhile, Max has bagged the shady VIP spot under the yellow parasol, proving once again that weekend daycare is all about pacing yourself properly.

Looks like River’s found the best seat in the house 💛

A little break from the heat, a cosy cuddle puddle with the kids, and absolutely no complaints from River. Well… apart from the slight confusion caused by the full-on winter duvet making an appearance in the middle of a warm day 😅

Still, if there are hugs on offer, River is more than happy to overlook the seasonal mismatch and soak up every last cuddle.
