Thursday with da boyz. Something about a good downpour apparently freshens up all the sniffs at Scentral Bark. The boys were definitely having a Sniffety-do-da-day. Everyone was in and out of the tall grass, we had hide & seek, we had following the leader, we had bounce-bounce-pounce - such fun was had. Boost & Hamish are both as daft as each other and disappeared into the tall grass at the far end for a good ten minutes - periodically one could be seen leaping like a Dolphin. Ollie was so taken with his sniffari he didn’t demand a ball until the last ten minutes or so. Blaze, at his Hap-happy place later in the day was similarly enraptured with the sea of grass, only taking time out to show a rather nonplussed and uninterested cow his favourite ball. It’s possible she was just in a moo’d about something unrelated.

Yesterday: thunder, lightning, torrential rain and hail storms scattered round the area (missed me 🤠). Today: more of the same (missed me again 🤠). Gorgeous morning at Scentral Bark for the Wednesday brunch club. Miss Nuala watching over the boys and making sure they behaved themselves. Following the leader through the long grass around the perimeter is now a solid favourite. Along with a new found appreciation for climbing on all the apparatus available. Later, having dodged a downpour, we introduced Monty to Fable & Fionn. The babies were quite taken with him. Fionn is an attentive student and was watching Monty with great interest. Miss Fable, a little more reserved, but still couldn’t resist the prospect of chasing a ball. No bums in the air today but I’m sure that will come 😂

Just me and the Ambassador today. Had a riotous game of Where’s Wally. He was off like a Jackrabbit across the field and leaping like a Gazelle, burrowing like a badger and rolling like a wallowing Hippo. Tell me, did you ever see a happier spaniel? Unfortunately this morning’s activity did result in Yogi emerging from the greenery looking eerily like a jungle sniper in a ghillie suit - which in turn resulted in some ad-hoc grooming. But looking at his little face all lit up who could deny him his exuberant romp.
Got a stripey Wally looking to get spotted (see what I did there)?

A very chill Monday - with various Floofs on their holibobs today came down to just these two cutestars. Hamish & Blaze. Hamish just lurves to roll in long grass, especially when there’s a little left over morning dew clinging to it. Recent behavioural development - he likes to go full length in the grass, push with his back legs & munch as he wiggles his way forward - like a little black furry lawnmower with slobber covered blades. Blaze clearly had his Weatabix this morning and was delighting in clambering on the various offerings at his Hap-happy place, Scentral Bark. He was quite athletic in his pursuit of the ball today also. Fabulous to see such vigour - I’ll have a glass of what he’s having 🥃

The boys again this morning but this time at a rain fresh Scentral Bark with some big skies as a backdrop. After the obligatory admin sessions they all settled into their routines, checking out their favourite spots. Boost & Hamish were suddenly very playful, chasing each other through the long grass, taking turns hiding and seeking and pouncing on the other when found. Boost came haring out of the long grass and hid behind the climbing logs - Hamish, followed a similar route and (having not seen where Boost went) hid the other side. Both peeking out periodically watching for the others approach. Amazing scent work lads 😂 Ollie, having sat on the picnic bench watching this play out, eventually managed to get their attention and gather enough players for a solid game with the ball.
Got a little seeker that’s “coming ready or not”?

The boys were on form at Let 'Em Aff Dog Fields Ltd this morning. So much to sniff and investigate. Even Ollie forgot about his ball to begin with (it didn’t last long mind). Boost was all about the tank and very much enjoys the elevated position so he can observe proceedings and pick his next target. Hamish? Still all about the flowers. I believe he was a long haired flower child in a previous incarnation. Both Blaze & I were soaked to the bone - three times - during our session at his Hap-happy place, Scentral Bark. Despite the monsoon style weather, he needed to show his ball the park through the lens of the longest wettest grass he could find. Four towels at the end and he was still a soggy carpet 😂

Bit cooler today, some of these guys were breathing steam when they got to panting. We stayed mostly dry and there were plenty of smiles to go around. Ivy was trying to entice Boost into her sandpit bo***ir - then telling him to get out the moment he joined her. Poor boy didn’t know which way to turn and tried win her over by delivering toys to her - alas, she remained unimpressed. Patch was delighted to be chasing a ball with nobody trying to steal it or challenge his mastery for a change & in fact did a little stealing of his own to keep Ollie on his toes. Miss Nuala busted out the tippiest of tappies each time she got near the treat pouch - I’m a soft target for her in fairness (it’s the doe eyes along with the dancing 🥰). Boost, having had his advances thoroughly rebuffed, decided that playing hide & seek in the long grass was the grownup way to respond - Ivy did not go seek (I did though, I found him even when his disguised himself as a jungle vine, what a cutie). Scentral Bark stories.
Monty was introduced to little Sweetpea Eevee today. Yogi was a little miffed at first that someone else was muscling in on his rumble time - but he quickly returned to Ambassadorial duties and made introductions. Neither Monty nor Yogi stood a chance when it came to ball skills though, that wee toot can shift like lightning. Also has to be noted that she had Monty butt upwards within minutes. Love days like these.
