Jo has a passion for puppies, recall, tricks and scent detection. She describes her training methods as fun, motivational and practical. Jo has a rescue Golden Retriever x Labrador, Maggie who lives for scentwork and rolling around in long grass. Maggie’s recall (and her zoomies) are greatly admired by all! With Maggie’s help in training, Jo is a qualified World Scent Dog Association Instructor and Level 1 Scent Detection Competition Judge. Jo is also currently training Maggie in formal competitive heelwork. Jo has certified qualifications from Sarah Whitehead’s Clever Dog Company and The School of Canine Science, as well as being an official Puppy Lab Instructor, Real Dog Yoga Instructor, Superdogs Assistance Dog Instructor and a Trick Training Instructor. Jo has a rich background ranging from rescue centre work, vet procedural training and assistance dog training. When Louis met Maggie 🤎

Louis finished his puppy training foundation package with me recently, so a month on, a dog walk was in order!

What's gorgeous is that not only did him and Maggie hit it off, but Louis was SUCH a good boy 🥰 Beautifully behaved with Mag, not too much and not all over her like a 6 month old could be. He was just gorgeously confident, playful, respectful and able to read dog body language perfectly. Puppy training seriously paying off 💪

Mag's mind was blown with how fast this boy can run. She tried to keep up...but there was no chance 🤣 He's grown so much since I saw him, in every beautiful way possible 🤎 They make a cute couple. So proud of him 😍

Meet Amaris! 😍

What a babe. She's a Mastiff cross and an utter softy, an utter clutz and a total comedienne 🤣 Found abandoned on the streets as a pup, her team really have done a great job in bringing out the gentle giant in her. I'm here to bring on her recall, her lead skills and help with how distracted she can be outdoors 💪

She loves to train, loves a zoomie and if she can curl up and snuggle with you, she will. Welcome gorgeous girl! 🤎

Big smiley boy 😍

Benji is back for his advanced dog training sessions 🥰

He's been on vet rest for a while due to an elbow issue so we worked purely on advanced lead training concepts today whilst he builds his body back up. We were half expecting him to come out guns a blazing, full of pent up energy. But he did SO well! 💪

Lead training isn't just about the physical basic concepts of walking by your side. If you only work on that, you're missing parts of the picture. There's so many elements you can work on and so many nuances you can build so that walking with you on lead becomes something they want to do, rather than a chore for them. This is why I love advanced sessions so much, we can really get into the parts of dog training that make it an art.

It's so good to have you back Benji! That smile is infectious 🤎

Meet Hallie! 😍

Hallie is a rescue. We suspect she was going to be used for breeding before but her underbite may have been why they ruled that out. We don't know what she experienced previously, but after being rehomed, the vets found staples in her neck with no explanation for them. Signed off from the Vet with a clean bill of health though and those teefs cause her no bother 🥰

I'm here to help with some issues around dogs and train her foundation skills. She actually likes dogs and adores her brother Benson, but she finds seeing dogs when on lead very tricky. This looks like aggression to most, but is most likely more frustration based than anything...which needs a different training approach. As always though, every second I'm with a dog, I constantly assess and adjust plans depending on what's what. There could be something lurking from the past that we need to work on.

Exactly a year ago to the week I started puppy training with little Watson. I was met with a dog who was quite worried about the world. So much so, he wouldn't work directly with me back then as strangers felt too unsafe for him.

Roll on a year and what a difference. This boy loves life, is full of confidence, knows an amazing amount of training skills and I get the BEST cuddles and greetings. His recall is beautiful, his scentwork is some of the best I've seen in a while and he has a number of fun tricks up his sleeve because he just loves learning. I couldn't have asked for a better outcome for him and his team 🥳

He's graduated from his advanced dog training skills package now and whilst it makes me so sad to say goodbye, I know I'm stepping aside, leaving Watson in a really good place. This makes me so happy. Oh, and I'll be meeting up with him for dog walks too, so it isn't a final goodbye 🥰

Congratulations team! Proud, proud, proud. It's been just so gorgeous working with you all! What a difference a year makes, hey? Truly remarkable progress! 🤎

It didn't just rain on us this morning, it absolutely POURED 🤦‍♀️🤣

However, nothing rained on Murphy's puppy graduation parade. Progress doesn't even come close to describing how far he has come in just a few months. From a baby who couldn't concentrate for longer than a split second (and that's not an exaggeration), to a boy who worked beautifully with us around distractions and in a brand new environment 💪 And doesn't he look oh so handsome and all proper gundog now? Despite being dripping wet! 😍

I am so proud of how far this team have come. At their wits end is how they would describe things a few months ago, but now bonding beautifully and having fun. And Murphy is having the time of his life! Congratulations team! I have loved every second 🤎

Proud as punch and graduating on a high! 🥰

Loki has come a long way since we started. Recall, lead skills, distraction work all in the bag 💪 I think he might be one of the happiest boys on the planet. I've never known a dog with such an enthusiastic personality and it shines through in everything he does. Now his training is shining through too. Everything is looking bright for this beautiful boy.

Congratulations team! We're all as proud as Loki is 🤎

Meg... or Dobby? 🤣😍

She wouldn't be out of place in a Harry Potter film to be fair. There's something magical about her. The way she's just fitting into her new home so early on after being rehomed is incredible. I'm always humbled by dogs and their ability to deal with life when they have very little control over what happens to them 🥹

Lovely work from this working line girl who is in heaven when training. She's found her calling. Settling in, relationship building and lovely steps towards recall and other foundation skills. Such a good girl. Such a beauty. Inside and out 🤎

She's not remotely as serious as she's trying to convince you, especially at only 14 weeks young 🤣 Meet Nala 😍

Look at that hair. I admit, I'm a little bit in love with this girl.

She's here for all her puppy training foundations and her team have done a superb job so far. Time to tick all the socialisation boxes, get toileting bang on track and make dealing with puppy biting a whole lot easier! First steps for her foundation skills looking good too 👌

That face though 😍

Little Lenny has graduated from his dog training foundations 🥳 He pulled out all the stops in the field (his hardest place for walks) for his last session and showed off all the new skills he's learnt 🥰 He's come a long way in the short time we've been training him. Lead skills, recall, working around dogs. Everything can now be practiced and rehearsed with all the different skills his team can now draw upon 💪

He's a little firecracker this one and if you saw him running, you'd swear there was greyhound in there somewhere. This boy is FAST 💨 What an utterly gorgeous cheeky boy. Congratulations team! It's been utterly gorgeous working with you all! 🤎
