POSITIVE PAWS DOG TRAINING
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. All our classes are part of a set course.
All sessions must be pre paid.
They are based on a first come first served basis.
We reserve the right to cancel or postpone an event.
The number of participants is limited as described for each event.
2. Cancellation Policy
The cancellation fee is 100% unless the space can be otherwise assigned.
No refunds given.
3. All our Instructors are registered with the Kennel Club as Good Citizen Dog Training Scheme trainers and are listed on our club Insurance.
We strive to maintain our knowledge and training by undertaking continuous professional development.
All Instructors are Canine First Aid trained.
4. Health of Dogs
Participants should ensure that the dog is free of disease and fully vaccinated (or titre tested). If shortly following an event your dog becomes ill please notify Positive Paws immediately.
All dogs are required to be wormed and fleaโd regularly.
5. Participants in training classes/events do so at their own risk.
Positive Paws Dog Training will take all responsible precautions within the structure of our events to avoid injury.
However The Control Of Dogs Act 1986 section 21 โThe owner of a dog is liable for injury or damage caused by his/her dog to persons or livestockโ applies to our events.
All instances of accident or injury should be reported to Positive Paws.
6. Behaviour in and around the training areas
It is the owners responsibility to ensure that their dogs are under control at all times.
DO NOT allow your dog to approach another dog during the class unless it is a supervised exercise.
Please DO NOT approach or handle other clients dogs unless requested to do so by one of our Instructors.
Dogs must be on a collar/harness and lead if not being worked.
The Instructor may give consent to walk your dog off lead in certain areas and for specific exercises.
Please note as we are working in public areas be aware of pedestrians and traffic. If you have high visibility jackets please wear them when taking part in road walks.
7. Children
Children under 16 MUST be supervised by a responsible adult at all times.
The family will be advised by the relevant Instructor where they should sit or stand.
Please do not allow them to move around the training environment.
They should not approach other clients dogs without permission from the Instructor and owner.
Though we encourage all family members to be involved at training sessions this may not always be possible due to space restrictions.
8. Equipment and Clothing.
The Control of Dogs Order 1992 is a UK law that requires a dog to wear a collar and an identification tag or plate with the owners name and address, phone number is optional but advisable when in public places or on a highway.
Harness if required, lead, long line (not a retractable lead) poo bags, tasty treats, toy, water and a bowl if required, chair for outdoor training (if required).
Please clean up after your dogs in and around the venue. There are two dog waste bins. One is located opposite the Post Office, the other halfway along the alley by the pond.
Do NOT allow your dogs to swim in the fishing pond.
Training is run indoors during the winter months and outdoors during spring and summer months dependent on the weather/light. So please dress appropriately. Sensible shoes/boots, short coats/jackets.
9. The following are NOT permitted at any of our events Grot collars/leads, Electric Shock Collars, including citronella, Pinch or Prong Collars or any device that Positive Paws Dog Training deems unacceptable or may cause discomfort, pain or fear.
10. Length of the Event
The Instructor will act in the best interest of the dog and can therefore order a rest or halt on the training session.
It is the participants responsibility to arrive on time. Allow time for your dog to stretch and toilet prior to lesson commencement.
In the event a participant is late the trainer will not delay the start of the class.
The participant is not eligible to make up for any missed time or get a reduction in cost.
11. Cancellation or Postponing a Session
In case of change of Date, Place or Time Positive Paws Dog Training will inform participants immediately.
Should a class be cancelled due to illness/weather/problem with venue it will be rescheduled at the end of the course.
12. Photos and Videos
Positive Paws Dog Training reserve the right to take photos and videos.
Should you not wish to have you image shared on social media for publicity purposes please inform Positive Paws.
Participants are NOT allowed to take photos or videos without the consent of BOTH Positive Paws and other dog and handler teams at the event.
