Get organised for winter and get them washed and re-proofed. Do your other half a favour and STOP using the washing machine there is a good reason why…..actually here’s 10 reasons
⭐️Horse hair clogs your machine
Horse hair, hay, straw and dried mud can clog filters, pumps and drainage pipes, leading to blockages and expensive repairs.
⭐️It can damage your washing machine
Heavy, waterlogged rugs can put excessive strain on the drum, bearings and suspension, especially if the load becomes unbalanced.
⭐️It can spread bacteria and contamination
Rugs can carry manure, urine, skin debris and microorganisms. Washing them alongside household laundry risks cross-contamination, particularly if the machine isn't cleaned properly afterwards.
⭐️You could ruin the waterproofing
Incorrect detergents, fabric conditioners, high temperatures or unsuitable wash cycles can affect the rug's waterproof coating and breathable membrane.
⭐️Straps and buckles can cause damage
Heavy fastenings can bang against the drum, scratch surfaces or catch on the rug and other components.
⭐️Horse rugs are simply too bulky
Even if a rug fits inside the drum, it may not have enough room to move freely. This can result in poor cleaning and excessive strain on the machine.
