This is what came out of ONE sheath during a recent visit! This is why professional sheath cleaning matters! 🐴

A sheath can look perfectly normal from the outside, while underneath there can be a surprising amount of accumulated dirt, debris, sm**ma and even beans.

Regular professional cleaning isn’t just about keeping your horse looking clean, it’s about their comfort, hygiene and wellbeing.

This is exactly why I always recommend having your gelding/stallion (and mares!) professionally checked and cleaned rather than assuming there’s nothing there.

If your horse is due a sheath clean, don’t leave it until there’s a problem. Get them booked in, appointments are limited so please get in touch to secure a date.

As always, thank you everyone for keeping me so busy, I love coming to see your 4 legged friends 🖤

📅 Limited Availability for Sheath Cleaning 📅

Just a quick update, I now have very limited availability for sheath cleaning appointments for the rest of July. If your horse is due in July or August I advise you to message me soon to ensure your horse can be scheduled in on time.

Regular sheath cleaning is an important part of your horse’s health and comfort. A build-up of dirt and sm**ma can lead to irritation, swelling, discomfort, difficulty urinating, and in some cases, more serious issues if left unchecked.

If your horse is due for a clean, now is the time to get them booked in before my remaining appointments are gone.

📩 Send me a message to secure your slot.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support my business! I look forward to seeing you and your horses soon! 🐴

📢 Business Update 📢

I just wanted to let everyone know that I’ll soon be starting a new job role outside of my sheath cleaning business.

I will still be offering my sheath cleaning services and I have no plans to stop, but my availability will be more limited than before. As many of you know, I am already extremely busy, so moving forward appointments will need to be booked further in advance to avoid disappointment.

I’d like to thank all of my customers for their continued support, recommendations, and patience. Your custom is greatly appreciated, and I look forward to continuing to provide the same high standard of service.

If you’re thinking of booking in, please get in touch as early as possible to secure an appointment.

Thank you all for your understanding and support.

This is the amount that can be hidden up one horse’s sheath. I removed a lot of sm**ma build up, grease accumulation & then two rather large beans from this gelding. He also had some dry skin which required removing 🫘
It’s so easy to forget this plays a vital part of horse care and is so important in keeping our equines comfortable and performing at their best 🥇

Horse beans vary in size, from larger and more visible pieces to much smaller ones. Their impact however is consistent. Size doesn’t determine the level of concern as even the smallest can lead to discomfort or complications if not properly addressed.

This photo shows the size difference I regularly see in beans I remove, some are large and some are pea sized.

This is why regular inspection and professional sheath cleaning are essential parts of proper equine care. Routine maintenance helps prevent buildup, reduces the risk of irritation or infection, and ensures the horse’s overall comfort and wellbeing.

When it comes to bean removal, every piece matters and proactive, professional care makes all the difference.

Super busy couple of weeks coming up, please contact me to secure a booking. Weekend appointments are very limited, booking from mid May. Sooner available through the week or evenings however they are also limited.

With show season quickly approaching, I’d like to just remind people that alongside my main business of sheath cleaning; I also offer clipping (medium blade & covercoat), mane/tail/face tidies and plaiting 💇🏼‍♀️
Sheath cleaning appointments will always take precedence, however with the show season creeping upon us, I thought I would make more people aware of what else I offer!
Please contact me for availability and full price list 🗓️

Spring is the perfect time to get your horse’s sheath cleaned. As the weather warms up and horses become more active, it’s important to make sure they’re comfortable and free from any buildup that could cause irritation, swelling, or behavioural issues. Regular cleaning helps prevent discomfort, improves hygiene, and can even make a noticeable difference in your horse’s movement and attitude.

I’ve included two photos to show the size difference between two beans I’ve removed during sheath cleaning. While they look very different in size, both can cause the same problems - discomfort, restricted movement, and sensitivity. It just goes to show that even smaller accumulations shouldn’t be overlooked!

As always, a huge thank you to all my amazing clients for keeping me so busy — I really do appreciate your continued trust and support!

If you’ve been thinking about booking in, now’s a great time to get it sorted for the season ahead. My diary is open and looking super busy! 🦄

Not a glamorous job, but an important one 🐴

This week I removed a large bean from a horse’s urethral fossa, and it’s a good reminder of why routine gelding hygiene matters.

This horse was showing no signs of having any problems at all, but there is no doubt that this bean would have been causing pain and discomfort for him every day. This shows how important it is to have your horses regularly cleaned and checked by a professional who is trained to find and remove these things.

It might not be pretty, but it’s part of keeping horses healthy and comfortable.

I am booking up super quickly for the remainder of spring. Weekend and evening appointments are very limited. Please get in contact to secure an appointment 📅

⚠️ This all came from one horse’s sheath…

The photo shows the amount of built-up, dirt and sm**ma removed during a sheath clean I performed last week. It might not look like much at first glance, but this type of build-up can cause significant discomfort for a horse if left too long.

What many owners don’t realise is how far up this build-up can sit. To remove it properly, my arm had to go quite far up, which shows just how deep inside the sheath this dirt can collect. This also shows the importance of an arm length glove!

Signs your gelding may need a sheath clean:
• Strong smell
• Swelling or sensitivity
• Rubbing the sheath area
• Difficulty or straining to urinate
• Behaviour changes when ridden

Regular sheath checks and cleaning help keep your horse comfortable, healthy, and free from painful build-ups.

🌿 Spring is one of the busiest times for sheath cleaning, so if your gelding hasn’t been checked recently, it’s best to book in early before the spring rush.

📩 Message me if you’d like to get your horse booked in or if you have any questions.
