The World Cup is officially underway, so from a team who mostly know very little about football, but a lot about dog breeds, here is our World Cup Starting XI! ⚽🐾
Filling the goal, literally, with size and athleticism, we have the calm and collected Newfoundland, hailing from Canada. 🇨🇦
At left back, we need someone speedy, scrappy and hardworking, so it has to be the Chihuahua from Mexico. Small, but absolutely not to be underestimated. 🇲🇽
Centre back and captain of the team, of course, HAS to be the German Shepherd. No-nonsense, knows the job, and gets it done efficiently. 🇩🇪
Alongside them, we have the Australian Kelpie. Pacey, agile, a great jumper and always ready to look to the captain for advice. 🇦🇺
At right back, we have the Dalmatian from Croatia. Often gets lost along the way and sometimes forgets where it's meant to be, yet somehow still manages moments of magic! 🇭🇷
The French Beauceron takes defensive midfield. Tough, fearless and a natural ball winner, exactly who you want protecting the back line. 🇫🇷
In attacking midfield, we have one of the smartest dogs on the pitch. The Border Collie from Scotland sees the game before anyone else and probably understood the tactics before we did. 🏴
Flying down one wing, we have the Patterdale from England. Fiery, fast and full of attitude. 🏴
On the other side, bringing high speed and elegance, we have the Spanish Galgo. The other team will have a job keeping up with them. 🇪🇸
Up front, our first striker never stops moving. Chases lost causes, presses everything and somehow turns chaos into opportunity. It has to be the Portuguese Podengo! 🇵🇹
And for our second striker, in our opinion, there is no breed more suited to the role. Powerful, intimidating and not too worried about how the job gets done, as long as it gets done. The Belgian Malinois. 🇧🇪
Now we need a sub bench!!!
