With the emerging situation, I will be contacting clients before in-person appointments to check if your horse or any neighbouring horses are showing symptoms or have been in contact with infected horses.

Training can easily be converted into online training if your horse is not unwell so you don't miss out on your sessions.

Massage therapy will be risk assessed whether it is safe to go ahead with the appointment. If your horse is symptomatic or has had a recent vaccination then we will need to rearrange.

There will be no cancellation charges for any short notice changes due to flu - let's all help each other to slow the spread.

Any questions please don't hesitate to ask!

I'm so proud of everyone this week! The progress is amazing, and it's so great to watch everyone absolutely smashing their goals.

All of this was achieved with force-free, trauma-informed techniques. Prioritising experience doesn't mean we wont achieve our goals - it just means we all have a better time doing it!

Whether you're looking for massage therapy, rehab support, or have training goals you need help with, then get in touch today to book your free assessment call to find out how I can help!

Nervous system regulation is such a hot topic at the moment.

We talk about helping our horses find regulation, different skills and techniques we can use to help them relax.

A key part of that is very often missing, and that's our own emotional regulation.

Without it, we can find ourselves responding with emotion rather than logic. This reduces the quality of our training, and leaves the outcomes down to chance.

So today when I realised I was going to struggle to access my wise mind for a good quality training session, I left it.

I want my horse to want to train with me tomorrow, not feel unsure about it because I was unpredictable and inconsistent today.

I absolutely will die on these hills, shouting until I'm blue in the face 🤣

These things are important to me because they tranform the training experience, for you and your horse.

On our call this evening, It's Not Normal, we discussed a number of things that are inappropriately normalised or overlooked in the equestrian industry. Suz Crichton-Stuart EDO shared this really interesting fact, which was also new to me, so really exciting to learn something new for me as well this evening!!

You can watch the call back if you missed it, it'll be on my page for the next 30 days. We had some technical difficulties (me? struggle with a computer? surely not!) at the beginning, but the conversation did get really interesting, particularly around biting and food!

Suz and I will definitely be planning a Take 2 for the call, where we will have sorted out our tech problems so watch this space!!!

Thanks so much to everyone who joined us! 😀

Things were not magical for me today!

My studying did not go well today. I'm finding the way my current module is presented doesn't match my learning style, so I abandoned studying today in a cloud of frustration, overwhelm and a bit of self-pity (if I'm being entirely honest!).

I didn't pay enough attention to how I was feeling before going to spend time with my horses, and of course when things didn't quite go to plan, it exacerbated the feelings that were hanging around from my failed study session.

Luckily, I know that although my feelings are valid, feelings aren't fact. So although I was feeling down on myself for having a rubbish training session with the boys, I know that this doesn't define me as a horseperson or a human. I know that it doesn't make me incompetent, and one bad day doesn't define my abilities.

Because of this, my confidence remains strong, my self-esteem stays good and my ability to grow strengthens.

Because I validate my feelings, they don't escalate, fester, or come back to bite me later on.

This evening, I've made it a priority to do things that boost my mood and help me unwind from the stress from today so that I sleep well and can try again tomorrow.

I think a lot of people think that confidence, self-belief and success means never doubting yourself, never making mistakes, and being totally in control of your thoughts.

This couldn't be further from the truth! We're all human and doubt ourselves all the time, but confidence is knowing that this moment will pass and separating thoughts from feelings so difficult moments remain moments.

Today was not a good day for me. But do I feel okay about it? Absolutely.

As a mental health nurse, these are the kinds of skills I bring to your lessons to help you grow in confidence and self-esteem, as well as your practical skills with your horse.

If you're looking for a trainer that will support you as well as your horse, my DMs are open.
