As responsible breeders, we are always committed to the welfare of the dogs we breed and will take a dog back if circumstances require it. However, it is important to remember that owning a dog comes with a duty of care.
When a dog is sold, responsibility for its wellbeing, safety and veterinary care passes to the new owner. If a dog is injured while in an owner’s care, that responsibility does not simply disappear because the dog is returned to the breeder.
Taking a dog back is often done out of compassion and concern for the animal’s welfare, but responsible ownership means accepting accountability for the dog’s care throughout the time it is in your possession.
We hope this serves as a reminder that bringing a dog into your life is a commitment that carries both joy and responsibility.
