🐾Monty & Friends Day Out🐾

We introduced our ‘Monty & Friends Day Out’ to a secure field last month.

They were a hit! The dogs absolutely loved it.

We’re trying out different secure fields across the area to see which we love the most.

This time we had the pleasure of trying Southlodgemeadows dog parks🐾 and we chose the ‘play park’.
We were super pleased with the set up and we’ll be back to try the other secure field options they have soon.

Oh and Monty, Betty, Merlot, Clemmie & Albi all say hi 🙌🏻

✨Woo hoo it’s the weekend! ✨

It’s been a week of flexibility, last minute changes, and cancellations.

But we made it work. 🐾

The most important thing is the safety of our dogs 🤍

We’ve missed Clemmie and Toby this week who are on holiday so we can’t wait to see them again!

Later this week we have Max the golden retriever joining Monty’s gang!

✨ The Monday Club! ✨

A different Monday today, Clemmies on her holiday!

But also the heat is not good for the dogs, so some walks have been swapped to very early whimsy it’s still cool. And others to home visits.

The theme of the week this week but it’s what is most important for the dogs.

It’s the Friday Feeling at Monty & Mutts 🐾☀️

All dogs were changed to earlier walks today and have been changed for next week too, to either home visits or early walks. It’s so key to keep them cool.

✨The weekly round up ✨

Our regular dogs walked in all weathers including sun, rain, hail and thunder! It’s been a mixed bag of weather.

Lots of towelling down, washing towels, drying towels and repeat 😂

We had a meet and greet for a new customer who might be with us by July when we’ll then close our books for a while.

Our aim is not to be fully booked 7 days a week, but to have permanent clients and give them flexibility. So if they need an extra walk, home visit, drop in etc we can accommodate it.

Like we’ve always said…treating your dog like our own.

✨We often receive questions about why we limit client intake.

The answer is simple:

We believe dogs build trust through familiarity. 🐾

To preserve that standard, we accept only a small number of dogs at any given time.

We currently have availability on a Tuesday afternoon and a Friday morning for a permanent slot.

✨ Toby ✨

Is there a more beautiful Bassett Hound than Toby? I doubt it!
Toby is 13, he thinks he’s still 5, loves sniffing obviously, eating things he shouldn’t and his dentastix at lunch! And don’t forget the tummy rubs … or he’ll tell you about it😂

He’s a gentle hound, a gentleman, and everyone loves Toby Time 🧡

🐾 Solo walks vs group walks — does it actually matter?

As a professional dog walker, I get asked this all the time. The honest answer? Yes — massively.

Here’s why I’ll always choose solo walks for the dogs in my care 👇

🧠 Less stress, more decompression
Group walks mean dogs are constantly reacting to each other. Solo walks let your dog set the pace, sniff freely, and actually switch off. A sniff-led walk is 5x more mentally tiring than a rushed group trot.

👀 Nothing gets missed
One dog, one walker. I notice every limp, every mood shift, every “something’s not quite right today.” That just doesn’t happen in a group.

🎓 Training stays on track
Working on loose lead walking or recall? Group walks can quietly undo all of that. Solo walks keep the rules consistent, every single time.

This is why Monty & Mutts is — and always will be — private and solo. Not because it’s easier, but because your dog deserves better. 🐾
