From a little unsure to a big smile. 🐶💛

Every dog has their own way of experiencing the world. Some need a little more time, patience and reassurance before they feel truly comfortable.
Sometimes, all they need is someone willing to understand them, rather than simply change their behaviour.

At Pawra, our Behaviour Support sessions are about getting to know your dog as an individual: their personality, their needs and what they’re trying to communicate.

Because when they feel understood, they can start to feel more confident too. 🐾

For some dogs, a trip to the groomer can feel like a big deal. New smells, new people, unfamiliar surroundings… and it can take a little time for them to feel at ease.
Leo came in for his grooming session, and look how happy he was afterwards! Sometimes, all they need is a little patience, a gentle approach and a bit of time to realise they’re in good hands 🐶

That’s why here at Pawra, we have a separate entrance for shy dogs, so they can come in without the usual hustle and bustle and start their visit at their own pace. If your pup is a little nervous too, don’t worry, we’re here to help. 🐾

Meet Katherine 👋

‘Hello, I’m Katherine, a vet treating dogs in pain at Pawra!

I graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2019 and later specialised in anaesthesia, completing my residency at the University of Edinburgh in 2025. I’m particularly passionate about chronic pain, animal welfare and helping animals through complex procedures.

Outside of work, you’ll usually find me with Soap, my very energetic Labradoodle! 🐶 We love walking and playing together, and I also enjoy cooking, travelling, going to the gym and painting.

I’m so happy to be part of Pawra and to be part of a team that puts animal wellbeing at the heart of everything we do. 🐾’
