It's number three! Did you guess right? Well done! Make sure you give yourself a pat on the back. And if you didn't get it right, you still deserve a pat on the back for being a good sport.

Visiting St Anne's Care Home with my human is my favourite part of the week. The difference it makes it palpable (yes, dogs know fancy words too).

Knowing I'm making a difference to people's lives is something even more special than a comfy sofa, a bowl of food or a walk in the park. While I love all of these things - seeing the happiness our visits bring really is the best of all.

And it's not just me. You don't need any special qualifications to be a TheraPaws dog, you just need to have a big heart. And I know a lot of fellow dogs (and humans) who have that. 💜

In August, Freddie was brought into our care after he was found in need of help.

We rushed him to our veterinary clinic, where our team gave him a check-up. They found a wound around his right shoulder, which could have been caused by a cat fight. He received pain relief, but other than that appeared to be well.

As with every animal who arrives at Mayhew, one of the first things we do is check for a microchip. And luckily, Freddie had one.

Freddie's microchip meant that we could contact his family, and before long - Freddie was back where he belonged - at home. 💜

Microchipping your cat isn't just a legal requirement - it could be the thing that helps bring them back home to you. Fortunately in this case, it was a positive outcome for everyone. 🐾

It’s been a busy summer for our Mayhew Georgia team. 🐾 Here are just a few of the dogs who have received preventative veterinary care from the team over the past couple of months.

With their help, these dogs now have a brighter future ahead of them. 💜

Our team doesn’t just work tirelessly in Tbilisi - they also travel to towns and communities across Georgia, delivering clinics and helping hundreds of animals access the veterinary care they need.

As always, we’d like to thank the Edgard & Cooper Foundation and the Brigitte Bardot Foundation for their support in helping us deliver these much-needed clinics. 💜

Chai arrived in our care towards the end of August, heavily pregnant. Within a few days, she gave birth to two kittens - Assam and Earl Grey. ☕️

Fortunately for this little family, they were able to go to a foster home at the beginning of September, where they have been doing really well.

As you might be able to tell, Chai has been enjoying the home comforts and plenty of attention from her foster family. 💜

A foster home gives Chai a loving and comfortable environment to nurse her kittens, while giving Assam and Earl Grey the chance to grow up in a home environment and receive lots of socialisation.

When they are ready, we'll find Chai and her kittens their forever homes, but their foster home will always be an important part of their journey. 🥰

The cost of caring for dogs and cats is rising, and it’s putting Mayhew under increasing pressure.

It costs more than £8,000 a day to run Mayhew and provide our vital services. With food, energy, veterinary treatment and other essentials all costing more, it’s becoming harder for us to meet those costs.

But the need for our help hasn’t gone away. Dogs and cats still come through our doors needing somewhere safe to stay, veterinary treatment and dedicated care from our teams.

Meet little Reggie. 🐱

At just four months old, Reggie had been living outside since he was born. We were contacted after it was suspected that Reggie was unwell and needed some help.

When Reggie arrived at Mayhew, we noticed he wasn't using his front right leg and was favouring his left side. Our veterinary team performed X-rays to check for any fractures or other abnormalities, but thankfully, they couldn't find anything.

It was suspected that Reggie might have sustained some head trauma, which was affecting the use of his leg and his coordination.

Fortunately, after a few days in our care, Reggie was back to normal and showed us that he was the sweetest little thing, who loved lots of fuss. 🥰

Unsurprisingly, it didn't take long for Reggie to find his forever home. 🏡

Every animal who arrives at Mayhew receives the dedicated care they need to prepare them for rehoming, including support from our incredible veterinary team. 💜
